That was an excellent one.
Did you people see the same film I saw?
Great example of an old-fashioned, pure-at-heart escapist event movie that doesn't pretend to be anything that it's not and has boat loads of fun being its own ludicrous self.
A clunky actioner with a handful of cool moments.
I simply am in love with this movie. I really hope it will be released on DVD so I can watch it as many times as I like. It is an intense story about family, psychological disorders, love and revenge. A cliché lifetime movie? Could have been if it was not for Elizabeth Gillies who plays main character Callie Ross. Gillies really lifts this movie to a higher level, her acting is brilliant. She makes Callie a multi dimensional character, not just the crazy girl, but also likable and funny. That makes you feel sympathy with her even though she makes all the wrong choices. I was really deeply impressed with Liz' acting, she did an outstanding job.
I thought this was a great movie for it being lifetime. I'm not much of a lifetime fan. But Liz Gillies did a great job on the character she played. The nanny that took care of her as a child did a great job as well.I thought even though she was evil, she can definitely play bad girl parts pretty good. Callie Ross has a past that I wish they explored a bit more. It seems that as a little girl she didn't seem insane. But anyway the ending made it sad for me too.I also have to say I felt chills when I saw bits and pieces of her past as a kid, I think she started going nuts after her mother died.I think in a way I was hoping she would have fought her craziness so she didn't end up like her mother did.At the end it seems like they leave it off as a cliff hanger to maybe give a hint of a sequel?Definitely two thumbs up!
I totally agree with the good reviews this movie got. Killing Daddy's easily the best TV movie I've ever seen. Interesting plot, and very good acting of the main character. I love how the story is told from Callie's point of view so you relate to her even though she is the 'bad guy' (well, girl) in the story. Elizabeth Gillies', who plays Callie, acting is outstanding, she's the other reason you completely relate to Callie. Very well done. The story has a good build up and leads to a dramatic finale. It really captured me and I was really impressed both by the story as the acting. Killing Daddy is my new favorite TV movie! I would recommend this movie to anyone who likes a good psychological thriller/drama.
Killing Daddy is an intense drama about a young girl, Callie, with deep psychological problems who wants revenge for what her father did to her and her mother. It's a beautiful, intense and also a sad story, well written and very well performed. Callie is played by Elizabeth Gillies and she really has done an amazing job. It's really impressive how she manages to play a very disturbed girl in a way that makes you relate to her and feel with her. This lifts this what otherwise would be a typical lifetime movie to a different level. Gillies is able to make Callie a versatile character both strong and vulnerable, and this makes it to me her best movie so far. It shows her potential to become a very big star in the future, no doubt about that.
