Do You Like My Basement?
Do You Like My Basement? tracks how one man's creative frustration bore a need to make the perfect horror film. Stanley Farmer was rejected universally by the film world. His frustration provoked a darker side and soon cunning, guile, devilish charm and a sociopath's streak compelled him to produce a home-made magnum opus. A film that blurs the lines between reality and fiction and demands the attention of the very world that spurned him.

This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.

The back story to "Attack Force" is really depressing, even to Steven Seagal's standards. Apparently he really tried to do something different with this one. It was supposed to be his first stab at a horror/sci-fi movie (originally it was called "Harvester"), featuring a Seagal 2.0 that fought an army of vampires in what must have been some kind of off-brand "Blade" (at times the style is clearly reminiscent). Unfortunately, the executive producers usually get the final cut and they suddenly figured: why take a chance with something new when there's always a buck in generic action movies? A bajillion reshoots, redubs and recuts later we got "Attack Force", which is about 5% action and 95% explaining how the old footage is supposed to fit into the new plot (but seriously, why would an "experimental drug" make you want to lick blood off a window?). Any dialogue scene will usually start with Seagal saying a line from the original movie, then it will cut away from his face and the worst impersonator of all time takes over to give us all kinds of new exposition. Like most recent Seagal movies, this movie also has way too many sets of characters that are mainly there to pad out the running time. We have Seagal's team, and then you have the vampires/drug addicts/whatever, what else do you need? Why is there a French cop following everyone around, why are there extra government guys that are supervised by more extra government guys? Who needs all that crap in a B-movie, get to the fighting. I've got to say though, the fights are quite jumpy but really not that bad. Most of it is done by a stunt double, but it looks fine and pretty stylish. Kinda makes you wonder what "Harvester" would have been like. Unfortunately, we'll probably never know and are stuck with this headache-inducing mess.

OK, i am partly kidding and i know this was originally something else, they dubbed Seagal's voice and made another movie out of it. First i own a Quebec version, so i have the movie in french, therefore the terrible dubbing is not a problem for me as i watch it in french dubbed... with the same voice all movie long...Seagal is like Van Damme, his best work was his first 5-6 movies, then he made DTV release that where sometimes good and fun, sometimes awful. I have somewhat of a grudge against "Against the Dark" in term of Seagal movies, because he is barely in it even tough he is on the cover with his name too. But at least Against the dark in its category is not that bad... Forget Steven Seagal and you have an average vampire(that look like zombies) movie. But then you have Attack Force... this "thing" dosen't even make sense... Its a bunch of scene stuck together that try to form a cohesive thing, but it fail so badly... Why? Maybe because they screwed it up themselves with that change of plot... Lets face it, Harvester would not had been a masterpiece... maybe not even a decent Seagal DTV movie, but it would had make a bit of sense I'm sure.I was reluctant to see it, i knew it would be bad, and oh it didn't disappointed... I got it on a 3 x 10$ movie bargain bin, and well...at least i own it so its still possible i get all of Seagal's movie eventually, as i have already 80%. But it took me some time to watch it, sometimes the bad hypes are false, but in this case, they are just completely true.

Well let me say that I have always been a Steven seagal fan and his movies are usually great but this just don't measure up to the rest. This in my opinion is very stupid I did not like it all. The biggest reason I don't like it is because it is very flawed and to me does not make much sense. The acting is very bad even Steven seagal does not do good acting, The rest of the actors I can see because they just do direct to video movies. It does not follow a straight storyline everything happens at once so that why it doesn't make much sense. Ther is barely any action in it at all and in order to make an action movie good you usually need action in it. The special effects are very bad and you can tell are fake. So all in all this has to seagals worst movie of all so if you want to see a Steven seagal movie don't rent this one just pretend it does not exist. So just avoid this movie.Overall score: ** out of ********** * out of *****

I feel blessed to own what is known as the worst Steven Seagal movie ever made. I knew I was on to something special when Steven opened his mouth and someone else's voice came out. By the middle of the film my eyes were beginning to hurt and I was almost falling out of my chair with uncontrollable laughter.Steven is Steven (with an ever changing voice) and totally unbelievable in his role (as always). Who the hell lets people with bad nappy-hair pony tail mullets into the Forces anyway? He also always writes himself into totally unbelievable love interests with women at least 20 years his junior. The supporting actors all look like they've been shot in the dark - btw, did they shoot this movie in the dark with just a penlight torch for lighting? This is truly abominable in every way possible. Invite all your friends around and make a social event out of it - this one's truly special.
