A movie that not only functions as a solid scarefest but a razor-sharp satire.

A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.

Finally it's a delight to see this. SOUTHERN blacks, not Northern, Western or Midwest blacks, who don't say the word, pretty much like white people One reason I loved the movie is it's an incredible story. Also it's a beautiful touching tale of forgiveness and second chances. Watch this movie, you won't regret it. Touching human drama stories. Sam Foster is up there with greats like Spike Lee and Martin Scorsese and Brian DePalma. This movie not bad at all. The music is grand de force. Beautiful babes singing our favorite Southern songs. You'll love this movie a lot. Beautiful sights and sounds and well, and New York is shown too

If you are looking for something to face palm several times with and laugh hysterically at then this is your movie. The acting is impalpable, the set is even worse, and the plot line is just a total clichéd bomb. Even the singing is less than mediocre with the exception of Tammy Townsend. I think the best part and probably only good part in the movie is the very end when the main character goes back to where she belongs. I thought they could have done a lot more with this movie and I know a lot of African American B-movies are laughable and light movies but this was a low budget version of the Tyler Perry movies. Matter of fact it was several Tyler Perry movies mixed into one. Do not and I repeat do not waste your money on buying this but maybe consider just waiting to watch it on BET whenever it comes on and even that's asking a lot of this movie.

Who would have thought that Letoya Luckett could act? She has proved that she is the best actress from Destiny's Child. And who would have thought that Tammy Townsend could sing? And who would have thought that Tank could sing? Clifton Powell did a great job as the hateful director for the stage show. Angie was one of the most stupid movie characters that I have ever seen! She behaved as a strong woman during parts of the movie, but continued to be used and abused during other parts of the movie. It was good to see fly Essence Atkins and Raeven Kelly in this movie. This movie had serious messages. Look at the deleted scenes to see Dawn Lewis' role in the movie.

Which I agree with from a reviewer on here because this movie has it's flaws but it tells a magnificent story of a young 23 year old woman who follows her dreams (even if they get her into trouble). It has lots of great dialog, the characters work and the plot is very good leaving you to watch more of it. There were times I re winded and times I yelled at the screen because some characters could get under your skin. Other times I cheered for some characters because hey they made me smile, but all in all I say check this one out because it's a very moving uplifting story for the family and especially the young females ( of any ethnicity). Note: I a preacher's grandson and son so for the PKs out there, a strong yes because I know I'm a buy this.
