Please don't spend money on this.
While it is a pity that the story wasn't told with more visual finesse, this is trivial compared to our real-world problems. It takes a good movie to put that into perspective.
The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful
To be honest, this might be worst James Wan movie I've seen so far. He plays like always with the clichés, but in this one they are boring. I was bored. Its possible I just miss Farmiga. It picks up once they finally accept to go to rescue their son. And then it picks up again with the final twist, which I didn't see coming. But overall was mediocre, and that surprise made it just fine.
Insidious feels a lot like an old-fashioned horror film. Instead of blood and gore, it relies on suspense and the unknown to create a sense of fear. It takes a while to get going, and the final act will disappoint some (it's a bit bizarre), but it if you're in the mood to be scared, this movie will do the trick.
A family looks to prevent evil spirits from trapping their comatose child in a realm called The Further. Insidious and directed by James Wan (The Conjuring, The Conjuring 2, Saw and Furious 7) and stars Patrick Wilson and Rose Byrne, first of all this film and this director in general knows how to make a good horror film. He keeps on building the atmosphere up up and way and when the time comes he shows you something creepy (that dude that looks like Darth Maul jesus christ). The perfomances by the entire cast were great and the film is very nicely directed alongside a very good and interesting story and without the doubt the best of the Insidious movies to date. (10/10)
Many thanks to Mr. James Wen, who directed this very nice film And thanks to all executive who have been able to make such a high-quality film.
