Such a frustrating disappointment
Just perfect...
This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.
It is an exhilarating, distressing, funny and profound film, with one of the more memorable film scores in years,
A lot of people are missing the point of this movie. It's not so much a sequel as a celebration of the 1st film (as Blues Brothers 2000 was to The Blues Brothers). And it is hilarious. If you look at in that light, and just enjoy the jokes, this movie should make you laugh. I'll take it any day over most Hollywood comedies. The only reason I didn't give it a 10 is because the writers had to be politically correct and have Joe Dirt say something nice about Martin Luther King, as if a guy like him would admire MLK. More likely he'd think King was a fraud and whatnot.
14 years later Joe Dirte (as he likes to call himself) is going through another saga. He married the love of his life, Brandy (Brittany Daniel), and they had triplets (three daughters: Dakota, Cheyenne, and Abilene). Everything was cool in the Dirt world until his daughters saw him being victimized by his coworkers (a fart joke that went waaaay too long). It was then that Joe Dirt figured he had to be different/better to gain the respect of his three little girls.Joe Dirt was not in need of a sequel--but truthfully how many movies are in need of sequels? But considering the plethora of sequels out there--with the majority of them being awful--this wasn't too bad. David Spade had the same mannerisms, speech and gullibility of Joe Dirt. Brittany Daniels was still the gorgeous love interest. And even Christopher Walken reprised his role as Clem. That's where the parallels stop. It was not quite as funny and that was really just the writing. It didn't have the same appeal, even the story wasn't as captivating. With all of that it was still entertaining enough.
its been 14 years since the first movie come out in 2001 and its been 1 day since I watch the first one. I saw this movie come out, Joe Dirt 2? What is this? I never heard of this movie before, so I decided to find the first movie and watch it, yeah, its not really funny but I think the story is really interesting, about the life of Joe Dirt, the adventure he go through everyday makes this movie really good I guess. So, about the second one, I think its totally similar with the first you know, all the funny scene, the atmosphere, jokes is exactly the same with the first one. Even the actor do the really same character like they do 14 years ago, they are so experienced I guess. So, I guess this movie is OK, fun to watch, even though they don't really take this time travel theme seriously but I think the old fans will still love it. Because they manage to make us totally care about Joe Dirt's life, that's what make this movie good. Also don't forget about Brittany Daniel. She's still the same lovable Brandy. A classic Joe Dirt quote that I love, "Life is a garden, dig in".
its a great movie its funny its not as great as the first one but i love happy Madison they always make me laugh rather watch happy Madison movies over anything one of the best parts i loved about this movie believe or not that one dude totally looks like Chris Farley, may he rest in peace but thats freaking awesome i cant curse, lots of laughs imagine like tommy boy 2 or something like that I don't know but above all great movie loved it funny stuff still cant curse, they have a lot of the actors from the the first one and new actors, the intro of the movie had a good twist to it the radio dude from the first one giving mean burns comments that were completely funny to this redneck dude with missing teeth, there's a whole crazy adventure with allot of twist & turns making fun of a couple movies that tom hank plays in ha-ha look for it just don't do a monkey see monkey do type thing and hump a foot ball its not where you want to be when Jesus comes back...
