There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes
The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.
The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.
I only found out about this movie yesterday while looking for other things that Eric Mabius had been in as I was watching Resident Evil. I saw the poster for it and thought it looked very "The Skulls" and after I read the synopsis, I went and watched it on YouTube and absolutely fell in love. This movie really makes you feel so many things for the main characters and Eric Mabius' portrayal of Shane was beyond convincing. Not only that but the fact that this movie is based on the true story of Ricky Kasso just makes it so much more meaningful. I am honestly recommending this movie to everyone I know and will be watching again as soon as possible as it has now become one of my favorite movies.
While watching this movie I couldn't stop thinking about "The Lost Boys". Well both movies have similar plots and even similar characters. The basic plot is even similar; involving a band of boys who followed the wrong way.In "Black Circle Boys" we have boys who worship "The Father" and aspire one day to play on a famous rock club. They will do anything in order to please the father. Everything means murder, robbery, vandalism, etc. This movie is raw and crude at some points but what I dug about it was the symphaty and sadness I felt for the two main members of the band. They are obviously misoriented boys who live on a dysfunctional family and do not know what to do with their lives. On real life, those kind of boys try to find warm and help on Satanic cults. If this movie is based on true events, it's a very well done research and displays perfectly the sadness of teenagers that followed the wrong path just because of trying to find a better life.Education and values are learned in home...
Oh, the joys of telecinema. This is, on one level, one of the worst movies I've ever seen, not so much from an acting perspective as from a script/plot perspective. Supposedly based on a true story, it's more like a male version of The Craft, only with a gay Donnie Wahlberg. On another level, though, it's practically a parody of itself and all those anonymous diaries you find in the bookstore about kids who fall into lives of drug abuse and Satanism. The movie is meant to be serious! And frightening! But it's more the sort of movie you'll want to get drunk with your friends and laugh at, particularly if you've got slightly twisted senses of humourA superb good-bad movie. And that Mabius kid's kinda cute.
When I first watched this movie I thought it was some sort of joke. Turns out it wasn't. If your a Marilyn Manson fan, you'll love it. If you understand what i'm getting at, don't waste your frikken time. The only thing worse that this was Mr. Mabius' attempt at portraying the crow... =(
