This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.

(i don't know why i even had to check the "spoiler alert" box? the whole movie is insanely predictable.)what can i say? i could tell it was garbage in the first 5 minutes of watching. I'm not even sure how i managed to get through the whole movie. i kept wanting to turn to the invisible person next to me to see if they had that "what the...?" look on their face. i was watching the movie alone but if i were watching this with a guy i would be completely embarrassed by the way it portrays women. actually, all women should be angry at this movie. this is complete nonsense! OMG grl gets dream job writing an article for glamour becuz like she HAS TO HAVE A BOYFRIEND! seriously though? she is obsessed with men. does she have any hobbies? but he has to be the man of her dreams you know? like all those things we look for in a guy: an accent, corny pick up lines, MONEY(not a waiter. ew), and he brings chocolate into the bedroom SEXY...ohh and I'm a woman so i just LOVE chocolate...RIGHT LADIES?! oh and she gets the job based on her looks and on her first day she is losing her mind over all these MEN!! umm are you okay? do you need to change your pencil skirt? how is she keeping her job? she spends all day at work putting up door beads and tacky hot pink crocodile print decorations and just spinning in her chair daydreaming about men. then after dating the ENTIRE staff she suddenly decides that she is IN LOVE with the $$big boss business man$$ and oh big surprise...he loves her back. no way? so in the end the lesson learned here is that men love tacky, selfish, desperate, superficial women with brains so small(the size of a caper) as long as you are pretty. what a waste of money to produce such a terrible excuse for a movie...whoever made this does not even care about entertainment or has lost their mind completely.

This movie, is truly an insult to younger women in or not in the corporate world. Lane is a superficial bimbo. She seems to think she can get just pretty much anything she imagines, without thinking about the consequences. She is a little over confident about her appearance and her intellect, which is kinda zero. And that stupid list of hers? What type of woman actually dates like that? She seems to be living in some dumb blond world. Oh oops, she is kinda blond isn't her? If this is how woman think they should act like to gain attention from others, it really is quite lame. The best word used in the entire movie? 'Flimsy' which best describes, Lane. The second she actually finds an intelligent man, who manages to carry a conversation, she gets bored. Oh god, and no one writes like that not even for magazine material.Even for a lame B-grade teen movie, this fails on many levels. I mean, I'm a journalist myself and my job is NOTHING like what Lane does. I still cannot believe this movie did not get shelved and was actually released. Those who actually did enjoy this movie, I'm sorry to say must be those who live their life's out off a chick flick romance novel.Every conversation, sounded like it was written by and for 12 year olds. I am truly sad that I actually lasted till the end of this pathetic excuse of a movie.

It wasn't that bad, I mean, Hilary and Michael were cute together, however this movie was similar to that Kate Hudson movie (but I think this one was better!). The only problem was that there were totally obvious thing, but maybe it wasn't a real problem, I mean, it's just a typical romantic comedy!! I loved the ending, but I knew that all the time, I mean it was obvious, that in the end Lane and Tom will be a couple, however it was a little bit fast... I loved Lane's girl friends, I mean they both were cute, and awesome!! And Seth was cute too, and the actor, Matt Dallas, who played him was just wow!! And I like Liams accent I mean Chris Carmack hasn't got accent, so it was pretty good to hear it from him!!

This movie is an abomination to every aspect of filmmaking and culture. Hilary Duff is about as exciting as watching paint dry. The writing is so heinously bad. Quite literally the most offensive depiction of women ever printed to film. One would be better served watching a solar eclipse.Below are activities that would be better than watching this flick: + Clawing your eyes out + Combing your hair for two hours + Receiving the Clockwork Orange violence rehabilitation treatment + Eating a prickly cactus + Dying by fire + Dying by falling off a huge building + Dying + Ignoring a painful hangnail while cutting citrus fruit + Knocking your teeth out with a hammer
