I cannot think of one single thing that I would change about this film. The acting is incomparable, the directing deft, and the writing poignantly brilliant.

Walk of Shame surfing in the wave of the Date Night,After Hours among the other movies...but have another thing that differentiates from them it's sexy...all kind of situations is about the yellow short dress, besides the plot could be unbelievable works as comedy of errors....the main character Meghan (Elizabeth Banks) is surprising fantastic and reasonable in the role carrying the movie along the streets.....good movie even as carbon copy of the other famous movies.Resume:First watch: 2017 / How many: 1 / Source: Netflix / Rating: 7

I don't normally review piping-hot movies, but this one (after first coming to my attention because of the bright canary-yellow dress and the legs, legs, legs on the DVD cover) went on sale very quickly. The back of the box seemed sketchy and I suspected a small, throwaway movie. Was surprised by the wide-screen menu. But something is wrong. Mistakes abound.First off, they introduce her wrong. We meet her as the prissy newscaster, prone to goof-ups. Nothing wrong with the last bit, that makes her human, and likable. But we should have seen her at home first, with her hair down, in some equally crazy situation. Instead, we are off to the night-club bar, where she gets drunk, well, tipsy, all too soon. Throwing up even. Why do mankind insist on over-consuming? Especially with alcohol? Minus points almost instantly. The good girl 'falls' too easily.Noticed a strong trend towards foot fetishism. No nothing wrong there on that account. Elizabeth has very, very nice legs, especially for, dare I say it, an older leading lady (pushing 40). Indeed, there are girls less than half her age who would gleefully kill to have legs like that. Wow!The crack-house scene really won me over, and then the movie became a hit for me. I get the general feeling though that many, many actresses would have passed on this prospect, and that Elizabeth took it as a chance to show the world just how Drop Dead Sexy Hot she still is despite having been not exactly a major star. But as the movie progresses, it sure has its moments of merit- worthiness, and Elizabeth surely is, or had to be, a great sport!Movie has inspired me to research her earlier titles. ZACK AND MIRI MAKE A PORNO coming up, but SURRENDER DOROTHY, what the freaking hell...?I predict that WALK OF SHAME will garner a cult following in years to come. After all, there are these predictions that blonds are dying out (I saw it on the Net while doing research, honest), and one day all that will be left for us Dirty Old Men will be fond memories. And they'll take out their old copies of prime Nineties and Aughties and Teenies Hollywood movies and wipe back the tears of longing and just sit and stare like I currently do...Seriously, if you'll look at it again, this is a wonderfully great movie, hilarious, with a really warm heart. And Elizabeth Banks is the true spirit of America, dogging through a difficult (almost (?) demeaning) script, and emerging triumphant. Despite the canary-yellow dress looking like it's been at the bottom of a hundred canary cages.I picked up the brand-new (give or take some months) DVD at a bargain price and got way, way more than my money's worth. At the very start, movie seemed bound to flop, but just stick with it. Many people won't though, so I'd have suggested a whole lot of changes in the first bit, up till the 'stuck-heel on the fire-escape' scene. Past history now, but no matter, just know that it's a great movie after all. You'll root for this girl!

The premise of this film is that Elizabeth Banks needs to get to her first day of work and maintain her reputation as the squeaky clean face of the weather for some TV network. Of course she goes out for a drink and it all heads south.Elizabeth Banks was very good, effortlessly stealing the show and looks great. But I wonder why she made this. The concepts of the film are very outdated, maybe it's different in the U.S, but in the U.K if a woman is wearing a short skirt no one jumps to the conclusion she is a prostitute - it is just the norm. This film leans heavily on stereo types from black pot head gangsters to good meaning but slow witted cops. The main character constantly professes she is "a good girl" which I did find a little degrading. The unjust social standards at which this film aims to undermine simply aren't that prevalent - not this side of the water anyway. As expected good production etc. not particularly funny or original.

I left the film, Walk of Shame, with no doubt that Elizabeth Banks, with the right material, could perhaps tickle the funny bone. She seems like a potentially gifted comedienne. However, this film does her a disservice because it just isn't funny. She wakes up in the apartment of a handsome and nice guy played by James Marsden but instead of waiting for him to return, this potential anchor for a news station goes out in a rough part of a city running afoul of numerous obstacles (like trying to find her car which has been impounded, snatching a kid's bike to get around, hopping on a bus without a buck fifty in change which has her being mace sprayed by the driver, being cursed by some jagoff she meets in a park, meeting a Jewish man with focus issues near a synagogue, and trying to evade two police officers after her). This simply isn't smart or witty enough to rescue poor Banks from the doldrums although everybody in this cast works their ass off willing to try. If there is a consolation, Banks looks damn good in that tight, yellow dress, although the mean-spirited script has her called a hooker hoodlum, with nearly all those she encounters offering nothing but ridicule and hardship. Banks just deserves better than this film which accosts her with one unfunny bit and gag after another. Attractive cast gives it their best shot which is altogether tragic that the dialogue doesn't help them any.
