One of my all time favorites.
everything you have heard about this movie is true.
The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one
The movie really just wants to entertain people.
The film is kind of mocking lazy, dumb and criminals. Homer-sexual jokes at the beginning. That feels like puke. The whole thing was impossible of course but kind of intriguing enough to stick with it. I had at least three lol moments in the film. Good enough for TV at least.
I love Danny McBride in pretty much everything else I've ever seen him in but I couldn't stand this movie. I made myself get through the whole thing constantly reminding myself that it had to get better but it just never did. There were a couple of pretty good jokes that made me laugh a bit, like the guy on the floor in the bank and the ink packs were definitely funny parts. But overall it was just one bad joke after another. Too bad because the premise is great, that two guys kidnap a pizza delivery boy, strap a bomb vest to him with a timer and also remote detonator, and tell him to rob a bank and get $100,000 for them by that night or he'd blow up.I also like Jesse Eisenberg in the few things I've seen him in, but just couldn't stand this movie at all. I guess it's probably huge fun for potheads, but overall it's just one bad joke after another, and pretty predictable.
30 Minutes or Less is a good movie with a well written storyline and a great comedic cast. The script is nothing outstanding and there were certainly no parts that had me laughing out loud, but the movie definitely benefited from a good cast that seemed to get on very well together.Jesse Eisenberg did a good job,he's a great actor and really managed to work his way around a mediocre script, the scenes between him and Aziz Ansari are definitely the movies highlights, but I did expect more from him and Ruben Fleischer since it was their first film together since the hilarious Zombieland. Its certainly not a comedy I would highly recommend, but 30 Minutes or Less is a short (running for under 90 minutes) and has many funny moments that definitely make it worth a watch if you ever see it on television and have some time to kill. A pizza boy finds himself swept up in a heist when he is kidnapped and blackmailed in to robbing a bank.Best Performance: Jesse Eisenberg Worst Performance: Nick Swardson
Such a pity, but this film sounds promising, and has a promising plot, but I'm afraid to say it fails on all accounts. Except for a great opening scene with Jesse Eisenberg driving head over heels in his rotten 80'ies Mustang to deliver pizzas within the promised 30 minutes or less, to prevent the pizza's to be free, there's nothing here! You can stop watching after 5 minutes! Or, to make fun with the title, don't watch more than 39 minutes! The problem is that to fill a great plot, you've gotta have a great script. And as this is a comedy, it should be funny as well. I stead thus is like film filled with high low budget school comedy language and humor. I didn't gave one single laugh throughout the film. I still give it a 4, due to the following: A promising and great opening scene, which still is a film I'd like to see. A great plot, which still is a film I'd like to see. A-class actors Jesse Eisenberg and Fred Ward, which I still like to see. A great budget, which I would have liked been used on a good film.Unless you like like unfunny comedies based in great plots, stay away. Life's too short, and there are too many good films out there to enjoy. Please do!
