That was an excellent one.
Absolutely Brilliant!
Entertaining from beginning to end, it maintains the spirit of the franchise while establishing it's own seal with a fun cast
At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.
If you're in the mood of dumb, silly, funny and old school comedy type of feeling watch it. Good stuff
This is the modern day Citizen Kane. It really is. Only a genius could have produced a movie of this quality. The juvenile humour is absolutely repulsive, but for all the right reasons. Comedies that are of a genuine quality don't make me laugh nearly as hard as this film. I doubt the director's intent was to surpass much of anything. Everyone behind the film was probably under the impression it was just another dumb comedy. They are wrong. It's a masterpiece. Perhaps unintentionally. This film very well pioneered the zany, spontaneous, over the top humor of the modern internet age. For example, the Turtle scene. Who would have thought of that besides some Facebook Shitposter? This film paved the way for humor, culture and language of the past 10-15 years.
As I wrote this review, I realized I found my self in difficulty to find the correct words to describe how bad this movie is. As anyone else, I have favourite genres of film and there are of course some which I don't enjoy as much, some that I honestly don't like or appreciate, but in the end, I had always been able to watch any film from beginning to end, until I watch this film, I had to eject the DVD and stop watching, I was painful to endure, and ever since, I have been able to watch any film. This film was really a disappointing, considering how much enjoyed Dana Carvey's performances on SNL and in Wayne's World. The only advice that I can give to anyone, is to stay away from this film, as far away as one would try to stay away from Ebola.
It's when it comes to films like this that I really start to question IMDb's rating system. Because how are you really supposed to rate a film? On the plot? The acting? Cinematography? Entertainment value? Because this one has a shitty plot, okay acting, and pretty bad cinematography and special effects. But the overall suckiness makes it very entertaining. Is it thereby worthy of more stars? I think so. The weirdness and lousy effects makes this film really funny, and if watched between 23:00 and 04:00; hilarious. Many quotable scenes that won't make sense to anyone who has not yet seen this masterpiece and many other scenes that are just cringe-worthy and better off forgotten about. Despite of the terrible rating and overall mediocre performance this really is a film worth watching. It shows the diversity in films produced and even if you won't like it it will give you perspective on what is good and what's not and you will be able to appreciate real quality movies even more.
