Such a frustrating disappointment
Pretty Good
By the time the dramatic fireworks start popping off, each one feels earned.
One of the worst ways to make a cult movie is to set out to make a cult movie.
This movie has the basis for a good comedy. However, much of the quality of the acting is sub par, even if it's meant to be corny. But when you add the mocumentary style filming it really lets it down and makes it almost impossible to watch. Arnie is a bit of a saviour for the film but doesn't appear till halfway.
I was initially so thrilled when I saw the trailer to "Killing Gunther", especially because the trailed was so intense and rather impressive. And while the movie does start out quite nicely, but it loses momentum around midways, and then it just never got back up in gear.I had expected more comedy and funny situations throughout the movie, but it just really wasn't there. The movie had an impressive and interesting cast, and people were indeed doing good jobs with their given roles. But for an action comedy, then "Killing Gunther" just didn't pack enough of a punch to stand out. And it is sadly turns out to be the type of movie that you watch once and never again.
... if it was: 1. Belgian 2. Black and white 3. Had no big stars 4. Was about a psycho that randomly kills people 5. Was called Man Bites DogPoor remake of a cult classic.
I cant believe Arnold backed this. Terrible, horrible, unfunny, uninspired train wreck of a movie. I hated the movie so much that it promoted me to write this review. A complete an utter waste of time. Arnold if your reading this all I can say man is........Apologize for this mess you owe us that much.
