Jim Jefferies: I Swear to God

Jim Jefferies: I Swear to God: The easily offended might do best to avoid Jim Jefferies’ raunchy, rude humor (or at least imbibe the two-drink minimum beforehand), but the Australian-born comedian provides plenty of laughs for everyone else in this HBO special. In I Swear to God, Jefferies continues his patented brand of comedy that once got him punched by an audience member, discussing the idiocy of no-smoking signs, sluts vs. studs, and his father’s Holocaust jokes.

I just love Jim Jefferies. Makes me crack up everytime I watch one of his shows. And this show is exactly what I hoped it to be. I knew what I was going to get and I can't get enough of it. So saying I had a pretty good night in front of the telly isn't a lie. Him being an atheist, like I am also, and making fun about how dumb religious people are is one of my favorite things to watch. And this is done in America of all places, where religious people take their religion very very serious, I couldn't be more pleased. And just before I wrote my review on this show I read the negative reviews on here. I don't need to read the positive ones because they think just like me. But the bad reviews, they were like the icing on the cake. It's like Jim's show is not over yet. I just get a bonus round by reading those God fearing Christians. They are going to pray for our souls, we will go straight to hell etcetera... It's just great to piss those ignorants off. I want Jim Jefferies as president.

If you enjoy stand-up comedy, then "Jim Jefferies: I Swear to God" is a show that is well worth sitting down to watch. The jokes that Jim Jefferies deliver here are funny, to the point and put out there with no wrapping, no cushioning, no boundaries and no concern. This is like a slap to the face, but Jim Jefferies does it so well. Despite the excessive amount of foul language and topics that could be considered offensive or disturbing by some, then Jim Jefferies do manage to deliver these with his Australian charm and accent in a manner that it becomes acceptable and funny.Jim Jefferies manages to get well around topics in this show, ranging from religion and racism to his own family and childhood, as well as from drugs and alcohol to sex and a moment of clarity for the handicapped. There is a lot of political incorrectness here and a lot of jokes below the belt. So some viewers may not just be suitable for this. Just a friendly word of warning.Lots of laughs here, great jokes, good punchlines, hilarious guy. And to summarize this; just watch the show.

Loved it. His humor may not be for everyone, but if you're not in need of having any sticks removed from certain places, I'm sure you will enjoy it. A lot of his humor is quite raw and I would compare it to movies similar to Tropic Thunder. He covers religion, which could upset some folks, as he is not afraid to speak what's on his mind. He's also not afraid to make fun of himself, as he tells a very embarrassing story about what happened to him after purchasing some adult entertainment material. My advice, if you need to have a stick removed....go get that done first, and then watch it.
