As much as I adore "Koi ..... Mil Gaya" (2003) and "Krrish" (2006), I loathe their sequel i.e. the abomination named "Krrish 3". The first movie was influenced a lot by "E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial" (1982) and "Spider-Man" (2002). However, it had a story to tell and it did. Similarly, "Krrish" was pretty much influenced by the principles of Batman from "Batman Begins" (2005), a lot of actions from "The Matrix" (1999) among many other popular superhero films. It told a good origins story and was fine on the whole. And one more thing, their target audience were mainly the kids, so they were enjoyable enough as kids movies. But this movie? Oh hell no! Unlike the first two, it tries to be more than it is - an epic superhero movie of all times. This, despite (in its core) being a kids movie, feels like a cheesy rehash of some bad Hollywood superhero movies. As a kid's movie, it's something that even the kids will consider to be dumb, compared to other films made for them. It is superbly lazily written. It has no story inside it, the major plot points being ripped off of "X-Men: The Last Stand" (2006) mainly. That was the most commercially successful X-Men film at that time, and at the same time a pile of stinking trash. Since Bollywood wants to make money, they copied shamelessly from that movie. A lot of things are similar to "The Avengers" (2012) and "Man of Steel" (2013) regarding the destruction that takes place in the movie. There are some desi plotlines in this movie that feel incredibly hilarious. Just to make it look different, they made use of the same old story elements that is predictable to say the least. Leaving aside the Hollywood ripoff things, it creates a huge number of plot holes and inconsistencies regarding the franchise. The way Rohit speaks after the events of the first film doesn't explain itself. He was intelligent but still foolish after the events. And Krrish's powers are still not explained, which feel like the over amplification of Rohit's powers. In this movie, it feels like Krrish is a love child of Superman, Batman and The Flash rather than Rohit's son. Kangana plays the love child of Shadowcat and Mystique. Vivek Oberoi who looks like an illegal son of Saif Ali Khan in this movie, plays the love child of (drumrolls) Professor X and Magneto. And these aren't the spoilers. The only genuinely good thing about this movie is that Hrithik Roshan is really great as all the three characters - Rohit, Krishna and Krrish. The other thing I really had great time with whilst watching this nonsense was trying to figure the X-Men character they ripped off to create the character I am seeing on screen. Apart from these, nothing was there, except trashy things. The songs were useless in the first place, and to make this garbage more stinky, it greatly hampered the pacing of the movie. It gets an "E+" and a "3.1/10".

Krrish 3 is the third in the saga of Krrish; the superhero of Mumbai. It's everything I expect from a Bollywood big budget action movie. I'll get more into what I mean by that in a bit. The first few minutes of the film are dedicated to a review of the story so far. As if we needed a refresher, am-I-right? I'm willing to bet that you need so allow me to elucidate."This tale began with the birth of a mentally challenged boy, Rohit…" He grew but his mental age remained to that of a child. He was bullied. He prayed to Krishna and then, one night, a spaceship landed in his homeland. He made contact with the aliens who gave him super intelligence. He became a scientist, met a pretty lady and had a son (named Krishna). He went to Singapore to work with another super scientist and disappeared! Meanwhile, Krishna grew up with his grandmother (Rohit's mother) in a secret location. He joined a circus, donned a mask and became a superhero. He learned that his father was held captive in Singapore. And now we can start the movie. After writing all that, I'm exhausted of plot summary so let me speed up the general plot of this film. Kaal (Vivek Oberoi), a paraplegic with telepathic abilities (no, not Professor X), holds the world hostage by releasing a super-virus. He has the only known antidote. His ultimate goal is to get enough money to fuel his research to cure his paralysis. He splices his DNA with animal-DNA to create animal-human hybrids he calls "Manimals." He has a frog hybrid, a shapeshifter lady, and a super strong guy. Will Krrish save the city and the world?Bollywood continues to baffle me. A while ago, I tried watching Dhoom:3 and couldn't get more than a half hour through the nearly three hour epic. Krrish 3, on the other hand, is a reasonable two and a half hours and it even has an intermission. Both films are the mixture of over-the-top action sequences, over-the-top dialog, and musical sequences. I didn't understand if I should internalize the tap dancing sequence like I internalize Die Hard. Now I know I'm writing about Krrish 3 but I tend to use Dhoom:3 as my point of Bollywood reference. Krrish 3 presents the same sorts of questions. There's a fight scene between a villain and Krrish. They are indoors, mind you, and whenever the camera does a close up of Krrish, his hair is blowing in the wind. They are indoors! There is no wind! Even beyond little details like that, just the level of similarity between X-Men and this movie. I can't be the only one to ask this, right? And yet, Krrish 3 broke all sorts of Bollywood records. I wonder what was lost in translation that captured the Bollywood imagination.Would I recommend Krrish 3? I don't know, man. It's one of those things where it could be fun to watch because it's silly. But, I feel kinda bad saying that because I don't really understand it. I feel like I'm laughing at a culture and their cinema, you know? As far as comic book action movies go, I don't recommend it. There have been a ton of comic book movies in recent years and this one isn't quite worth its two and a half hour runtime. But I can't seem to let it go as simply a "no" review. It, and Bollywood as a whole, continues to confuse me and I think it's because I am too uninformed as to the culture. I can see how The Twilight Samurai, which I watched not too long ago, could have been equally confusing if I was clueless about Japanese culture and cinema. As it is the New Year, this seems to be a good time to make a resolution to learn a thing or two about India and it's cinema. Surely then I will be able to appreciate or at least have a better idea as to what is going on in the major Bollywood films that will undoubtedly come in the future.

rating 1 as 0 is not available. only good part is of a grown man jiggling his jaw. the father son duo thinks that Indians don't know anything about Hollywood. granted they copied the first movie of the trilogy off ET, but still... copying x men is just pathetic... and the reverse star wars theory was predictable too... and the most unique power of any superhero... tap dancing with converse. no real ideas for the story... a super villain who steals ice cream from kids? really??? no real ideas for songs... using a lyric related to Gandhi and the independence of India is disrespectful. stop treating the Indian public as infants...

After watching this film I realized that I wasn't wrong in thinking that Krrish 3 wouldn't be able to match up with Krrish, the first part. The excessive romantic scenes, pointless music and story although don't leave anything much special for the audience, but technically, the film is good. Otherwise it is just an average attempt by the makers. The fights,VFX and Locations are good.Hrithik is once again back in form.He proves himself superior to other actors with his awesome performance. The VFX has made him look new and entertaining,as a superhero. Thanks to SRK,whose VFX company has made it look like a master film, although it is not really like that. The emotional scenes are necessary for any film but the film didn't have them much.I would not really appreciate the makers for making such an average film with good action,VFX but a completely disconnected story and utter garbage type music. On the whole,Krrish 3 is a film that can be watched by all,but will be relished mostly by kids.An average film overall!
