It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.

The acting is good, and the firecracker script has some excellent ideas.

Mr. Bones is probably one of the most enjoyable local made movies I have seen.It contains scenes and messages that only a South African will understand. Despite reference been made by a none South African living in the UK as it been poor with toilet humour, even without this the movie is a load of fun.It contains a healthy dose of good South African actors, a colorful production and an overall message that portrays South African life and culture in general.All-in-all, its fun for the whole family and Leon Schuster best. This is your comment, you may delete or edit it.

This movie is actually very funny...the only problem is that if you come from USA or some other place you will never understand the South African humour in it...so if you are from the US then dont watch it...you wont get it...but if you are from South Africa...youll love it...i really loved this movie...because i am South African, it shows alot of things that happen in south africa and it really made me laugh, so i definitely recommend it to any South African who hasnt already seen it...if there are any South Africans who havnt seen it... this movie has been bad mouthed by many Americans and people in other countries simply because they just dont get it... so South Africans...Go watch it!! of course there are those exceptions of people from other countries other than South Africa who have experienced South African life and who will enjoy it.

This "movie" is literally THE worst peace of junk I ever watched, this includes Tuesday night German soap reruns! This flick is just so crappy, you wouldn't believe it. It's basically about a medicine-man of a South African tribe, who gets sent on a quest to find the chief's alledged son. That son has turned into a professional golfer and isn't quite aware of his royal descent - and as Mr. Bones shows up, he sincerely doubts everything the mad medicine-man tells him. Yadiyadiyah...and so on. So here's what I criticize about this flick: it's just flat out boring. That could be ok, if it was at least funny - it IS a comedy - but even that the movie doesn't accomplish! And here's why: all the jokes are about getting pooped on or pooping someone. Oh...I forgot to mention the running gag of a little pig falling out of a plane, pooping while falling! I think you get the picture! So, in case your ever intend to rent this, think about what I said!

I lived in South Africa for 8 years and this film is basically typical Afrikaans humour. In other words, toilet humour. Usually, I have nothing against toilet humour, but in Mr Bones it is done very poorly. 'There's a Zulu on My Stoep' is side splitting when compared to this trash. How is bird crap funny? Kids will find the humour to their liking, but thats about it.
