Eat
Novella McClure is like most struggling actresses in Los Angeles: she's in her early 30s, her fake name sounded cooler ten years ago, and she hasn't landed a role in three years. To top it all off, she's developed a disturbing habit of eating her own flesh. Novella desperately tries to hide her strange condition from her motherly landlord, Eesha, and somewhat psychopathic best friend, Candice, but her body and mind continue to deteriorate in the depressing world of failed auditions and sketchy night clubs. Can a romantic relationship with her psychiatrist prevent her from self destruction? Or will her fatal habit continue to eat away at her?

Just what I expected
Good story, Not enough for a whole film
a film so unique, intoxicating and bizarre that it not only demands another viewing, but is also forgivable as a satirical comedy where the jokes eventually take the back seat.
It’s sentimental, ridiculously long and only occasionally funny
Novella is an aspiring young actress who wants to advance and get a more important role in her career, so she goes to an audience but there are other girl who aim at the same purpose. Troubles begin when she discover some king of skin disease at her foot and arm and this will aggravate her path to success. Lucky for her that she has a friend who is along her when she needs but this may not be enough to solve all her problems. I like this sort of a different idea put in a movie and although at first it seems like it's going to be a bad movie, with the good sound and camera work makes it to be better along with the acting witch is decent and overall it is a watchable film in comparison with others with a bizarre story or a boring one, this one keeps it plain and simple. An unpopular horror with unknown actors who deserves more attention because I never seen a more unique movie like this one.
Spoiler Alert!! Spoiler Alert!!There, that being said; I loved this movie! It is so hard nowadays for a movie to even hold my attention; I guess this is the fate of people who have watched movies as long as I have (I am in my fifties). But during this...I never once left the room to go get a drink or a snack; I was entranced.First of all, the characters all just fit together very well, the doctor, Novella, and her crazy protective friend...I mean, how did they Find these people? The star often amazed me by how much she looked and acted so much like Scarlett Johansson, her crazy friend was both attractive and crazy, but obviously in love with Novella, I mean it all just came together so well! Even the doctor looked like some famous actor that I have seen, his name is on the tip of my tongue..And the thing that caused most to condemn the film is actually why I love it so...the pure Indie quality; you never know what to expect! Yes it doesn't "flow" as smoothly as Hollywood norm, but that gives it more edge and more room to stand out and be special, sort of like "Choke", "American Mary", "The Signal (2007)", "the Ruins", and others...
I didn't know what to expect from this film. I had seen the title and the synopsis - no reviews. It was surprising from the start. A fresh style rather than the moody kick-off many horror films have. It brought you into the character's rather false and fluffy life, and that of many others trying to make it in Hollywood. The acting is suburb by all of the case who portrayed their respective characters well - believably. My only criticism of the film is that it should have had more of an explanation of why the main character, Novella McClure, develops the way she does. we have a clue that it is because she becomes stressed, but there wasn't much of a back story.I felt for the character as she went through her ups and downs.I don't think this film is a 'classic' but it makes a change from dark and moody horrors.
I really enjoyed this. I'm a fan of body horror already, so this was right up my alley. The acting started off a bit shaky, but everything fell into place about 10 minutes into the film. Meggie Maddock is a beautiful and talented actress who I hope to see great things from in the future. As crazy as I thought her character, Novella was, her friend really took the cake. I also thought I had Dr. Simon figured out, but that threw me for a loop as well. This film had some really intense moments throughout and her self cannibalism scenes were extremely cringe-worthy. Great film over all and the ending was just insane.
