Pretty Good
Admirable film.
Pretty good movie overall. First half was nothing special but it got better as it went along.
Good films always raise compelling questions, whether the format is fiction or documentary fact.
If you were to judge a book by it's cover, you would think "this film is a cheap urban black film". However, once you get into the film and the plot slowly reveals - it is a very great, underrated film with an astonishing story. Congratulations to the writers who came up with the concept and the cast for shaping the film into a remarkable film that it is! Gabrielle Union is such a talented actor, it was unpredictable how influential her role would be in immersing myself to watch this film with a fantastic sense of fulfillment. LL Cool J plays as the imposing, strong man who will make your women his, within a second of paying attention to her and the guy who is a female attracting magnet! His acting in this film assists this in being overall amazing!
i have seen it a couple of time so those people who don't like get over your self OK and it is funny sad and exciting for those people who want a little bit of everything and you have to like some of the characters to really get into it. i like ll cool j in this movie the best all the other movies were OK but this one was the best of all. i don't see how anyone would not like this movie even though some parts in it are a little rude and disturbing.the girl who plays Eva is a good actor and knows how to play actor well. i didn't very much like her in bring it on i like this movie the best .i hope those who hasn't seen this movie likes it a lot.
I love this movie. It has a great cast and it is absolutely hilirious. Sure it's no "Soul Food" or "Waiting To Exhale" but its still a very good movie. This is definiatly Gabrielle Unions best role yet. She should have more starring roles, other than her usual supporting roles. I would have cast some one other than LL Cool J to play the role of Ray {no offense he did a great job} I just would have cast some one like Morris Chesnut in that role. The supporting cast was really good. Very good acting by Duane Martin. I really cannot think of one negative thing about this film. It really is a good movie.Grade- A+
At first I was cautious about seeing a "black" romantic comedy, that's speaking as a black man. However as the movie progressed I found the movie funny, witty which delivered good entertainment. The story/plot is nothing new and generally the script would equally work with "white" or any other "race/ethnic minority".For once "LL Cool J" acting wasn't (seemingly) wooden and was aptly suited to the part of being a "mack" who was "out-macked" by a foxy and intelligent lady. The ending of the movie in my opinion was disappointing as it was "surgary" but nevertheless I would wholeheartedly recommend the movie to anyone who has an open mind.
