The Sound of Music Live!
The Sound of Music Live! is a television special that was originally broadcast by NBC on December 5, 2013. Produced by Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, the special was an adaptation of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Broadway musical The Sound of Music, starring country singer Carrie Underwood as Maria von Trapp, performed and televised live from Grumman Studios in Bethpage, New York. Meron felt that if the telecast were successful, the concept could become "another kind of entertainment that can exist on TV." By her request, Underwood's casting as Maria was personally endorsed by Julie Andrews, who starred in the 1965 film.

The storyline feels a little thin and moth-eaten in parts but this sequel is plenty of fun.

This is the original and the BEST dance battle movie! Of course the story and acting are not great, but that's not what a movie like this is about; those aspects are incidental to a movie BURSTING with charm, electrifying battle scenes and a killer soundtrack. The whole cast were in their prime (and incredibly hot which never hurts) and the passion and love for their craft pours off the screen. People are taking this movie WAY too seriously and are totally missing what it's all about. It's not meant to be a gritty commentary on ghetto life in LA. What it's meant to be is a fantastic celebration of the skill and passion and phenomenal force of nature that was organic street dance battling. This remains one of the most hugely influential aspects of African American culture. It changed the music industry forever, launched countless entertainment careers and spawned countless imitation "dance movies". I'm not ashamed to say I LOVE THIS MOVIE and it will always be one of my all time favourites ever!!!

No idea why this movie is rated so low...the dance battles are great and its a classic street dance movie that paved the way for much bigger movies like Step Up. If you are in your mid 20's and have no rhythm and listen to country music, this movie isn't for you. Just search up You Got Served dance battles on YouTube and you will see its mostly positive reviews by young adults/teens who know this movie is fun.

It doesn't get any better than this! I watched Honey, Save the Last Dance, and Step Up. This movie out did them all with the pure energy from the dance scenes. The movie made me want to go out and learn all the last hip hop dances. I watch this movie over and over, granted, mainly for the dance scenes and the music, but that's the whole point of the movie! Everyone has something to say about the overall story. People complain about lame action movies in the same way. Most of Jackie Chan, Jean Claude Van Damme, Steven Seagal movies don't have a great storyline. But the story sets enough of a backdrop so what you came for; the action, will unfold. Its the same way with You Got Served. If you want to watch a movie where the dancing and the storyline were put together better, watch Stomp the Yard. The same dance choreographer, Dave Scott, worked on both films. Well, there is my two cents. I hope you decided to pick this up at Walmart or rent it at Blockbuster. I'm tired of people hating on this film simple because thestory lacked beef. The movie accomplished what it set out to do: update the urban dance genre. If you look at this movie as a movie you won't be impressed. If you look at it as a hip-hop dance movie. This is the best movie out there yet.

What's wrong with you people? This is one the best movies out there. So what if the plot isn't exactly the most realistic? It's as realistic as those of many other movies. Movies are meant for entertainment. This was more than entertainment for me... it was inspiration. The dancers in this movie are so talented. This movie combines comedy, drama, and dancing. How can you not love it? I've watched this about 4 times. I just want to watch it even more every time I watch it. I love this movie. It makes you want to dance no matter how bad you might be. There's so much energy in this movie. I usually feel lazy after watching movies. After watching this one, however, I was just so pumped up. Plus, Omarion is so cute!!
