I'll tell you why so serious
It's an amazing and heartbreaking story.
A movie that not only functions as a solid scarefest but a razor-sharp satire.
There's no way I can possibly love it entirely but I just think its ridiculously bad, but enjoyable at the same time.
This one is a must-see. Believe me, if you are doing research right now before an intended DVD purchase/rental, let me assure you, you're right on target. Evan Rachel Wood is fantastic in the lead. Indeed, the devil wears a gray skirt, my friends. The gaze of a deer, the cruelty of a tigress... She is wonderfully off-set by the formidable performance of James Woods as her father, who tells it as it is. I would, of course, suggest that you watch this movie a second time, because the out-of- sequence events really confuse the first time round. All that nastiness just because she wanted to be Anne Frank in the school play. Imagine if the stakes had been really serious...Established Evan Rachel Wood as a most watchable young star. Cannot get enough of her! Don't miss THIRTEEN, another must-see!
Pretty Persuasion is an intrigue that will leave you breathless with shock. It is devious, manipulative, and well thought out. Each character has enough depth to be solidly constructed and give us meaningful dialogs. Sometimes, as we follow the main girl, it feels like a monologue, a dry one, but all of it points to a genius after what she wants. The tone is just, some elements are a bit caricatural, but never over the top, just enough to resonate with the audience, and make a point. The whole setup is simple, like the editing, the camera shots, and the story, but it all to underline the razor precision of the mind behind it all. It makes the dramatic reveal even stronger.Do not underestimate this film, it packs a moral punch.
I chose to watch this movie because it was available, looked like a pop corn college flick. There is something about this movie which keeps you on it and for someone who gets bored very easily, this is quite an achievement. Part of the attraction I guess has to do with the innuendos, hot girls and that the story revolves around an alleged sex crime. But this is quite common and this is not why I gave the movie a 7. The reason I gave it a 7 is because of the lucid way in which the central character is developed and the director's portrayal of characters and situations which are quite realistic while at the same time not taking the "college" flick feel away from the movie. Not a must see. Maybe a maybe see
it was pure awesome. everything from the very being was linked in a very very genius was for lack of words.its about an extraordinary girl who controls the world with her intelligence. cold hearted, smart as hell, pure genius. its definitely one of the best movies I've seen. the main actors a high school girls witch Kimberly uses as puppets for her master plan. the movie does have a bit of sexually directed content but shows nothing but the face and sounds. an intriguing aspect is her stepmother witch Kimberly insults with "go f the dog". the dog its self is interesting and plays a very important part of the movie, in fact just about every scene in the movie plays an import part in understanding the phenomena the is Kimberly. in end pure genius.
