Fanciful, disturbing, and wildly original, it announces the arrival of a fresh, bold voice in American cinema.
It's an amazing and heartbreaking story.
The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.
This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.
First, this is menial budget movie . . . All the bad reviewers were more used to high budget fancy space genre movies. Ignore such reviews.Second, the plot of the movie runs on the lines of meta-physical monologue of the protagonist., which is quintessentially the very fundamental element of this genre. In most high-budget movies, to cater the broader audience, this element is generally faded out romance elements, human conflicts, moral paradoxes. Not in this. This strictly confined to meta-physical aspects of existentialism one faces when they are alone and divorced off the world. I could have given 10, but I am disappointed by the ending. Wish, there is more philosophical monologue in the end. That's the only disappointment of this film. In the beginning, the plot seems way too cliche. Please understand, its just setting stage for the character. If you could push through the part and involve meditative with the character, trust me, its a beautiful movie. Give it a try with your heart . . . It won't disappoint.
One of my biggest regrets in life is that I didn't read the reviews until after having watched it. Besides the hard to ignore tech goofs, there is no story whatsoever. Literally nothing happens. And I mean nothing. From beginning to end the plot is flat.Don't watch this if you prefer an intriguing storyline. Or any story for that. Also don't watch it if you have any knowledge of space, basic survival or plain common sense.
A very mind - blowing movie about space, gives you some self emotions, makes you feel good, alone. Great acting, science and story line. Now to the unrealistic part. There are no sun explosions between Earth and Mars, not at all. There could be a sun explosion when we leave this Solar System by a long of light - years. With such a short distance from Earth to Mars there is no way there could be a sun explosions, unless it was our sun, which would have exploded the whole Solar System.
You probably have already seen in other sci-fi movies with great plots which astronauts are headed to Mars, however that's not what's going to happen here. Probably director's intention was to let us know how boring a journey like this might be and no doubt its goal has been achieved.
