Moonwalkers
What if Apollo 11 never actually made it? What if, in reality, Stanley Kubrick secretly shot the famous images of the moon landing in a studio, working for the US administration? This is the premise of a totally plausible conspiracy theory that takes us to swinging sixties London, where a stubborn CIA agent will never find Kubrick but is forced to team up with a lousy manager of a seedy rock band to develop the biggest con of all time.

How wonderful it is to see this fine actress carry a film and carry it so beautifully.
A movie that not only functions as a solid scarefest but a razor-sharp satire.
What a fun and awesome flick! We were totally immersed-and cracking up almost non-stop-all the way through. I'm a multi-tasker, doing at least 1 or 2 other things while watching any TV (only way I can justify it-ha!), but Moonwalkers commanded my full attention start to finish (and that's a first). I'm on my 6th watch now (my roommate tallies up at close to 50) and it still hasn't gotten old or any less funny. (What?!) Seriously.Moonwalkers is hilarious. Ron Perlman is the shit (can I say that? ...if not, let's say he's the bomb) and he'll have you doubling over with laughter in seconds. I know, I know, you're thinking Ron Perlman? the heavy? have me doubling over with laughter?? YES! He is so perfect for the role he plays and he plays it to a T, maybe even a Z. I'd go on to say that he steals the show, but, how can I with Rupert Grint and, of course, the hippie chick, and, well, every single cast member was oustandingly amazing and cast perfectly. Ron Perlman is the man and quite frankly, they'll just all blow you away.Oh, then there's the story itself. It is hands down over the top hilarious while maintaining an incredibly believable as true fact feel. I think it's one of the reasons this movie has so much appeal-it's both unbelievable and yet completely believable at the same time. Is it based on actual events? Every thing that happens is so way out there. On one hand you're thinking it's just a comedic fantasy, things like this don't happen; then on the other hand-if your life's anything like mine, that is-it actually is believable and could be based on true facts. And aren't the funniest tales to tell the ones that are utterly true?!Bottom line, this flick ROCKS and everyone needs to watch it at least once. Whoever put this together is on it. They've obviously set the bar and set it high for the quality level of what they need to reach to put their stuff out into the world. Which then makes you also realize just how sad and sorry the majority of the rest of what's being put out there is and just how low the bar has become for what's now come to be deemed acceptable by most. Hey, let's get everyone to set the bar at least nearly this high, how 'bout it?HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. I would've given this a 9.5 star rating, but I couldn't find any half-stars.
Well to be honest I didn't expect much before watching Moonwalkers but I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised. I laughed a lot and to me that's what it is about when watching a comedy. The combination of a psychedelic environment and Ron Perlman as a brutal American CIA-agent was sometimes hilarious. The mixture of brutal scenes and then the more chill drug taking scenes worked perfectly. Also seeing Rupert Grint in something else then Harry Potter was interesting. The story itself, you don't have to take it too serious, it's a comedy, with a lot of subtle references to all kind of stuff, like Clockwork Orange, Eyes Wide Shut etc... Maybe some people might not like it, but I certainly did, it's my kind of humor. I truly enjoyed Moonwalkers.
i swear, i remember writing a review for this film.Well, a few months late, here is my - short - review of the film Mookwalkers. It's fantastic.Go see it.Except that, you can't; for some weird reason, this fantastic gem of a film has been released only on a few screens in the US and with no promotion at all, and this after paying the salaries of both Rupert Grint and Ron Pearlman !!Moonwalkers is a light-hearted (but not buffoonish) take on the "moon landing hoax". Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley from the Harry Potter films) is Jonny, brother of some big-shot producer, during the 1960s UK cultural revolution. In debt, he shows up at his brother's office one day to ask for a loan, and through a misunderstanding, Ron Pearlman (here as Army Sargeant Kidman) assigns him the task of hiring Stanley Kubrick to film the faked moon landings. That's .. what you would see in the trailers. What you *do not* see in the trailers, is the absolute madness that comes out of this situation.I really cannot find any faults with this film; it's shot and directed flawlessly, Pearlman, Grint and the various supporting do a marvellous job, the plot is near-perfect. It's not a revolutionary film by any means, but it's a shame it did not get a proper release because it's a film that i truly believe everyone would enjoy.I heartily recommend you to find Moonwalkers on video-on-demand, it's available on quite a few services. I trust you will really like it.My vote, 8/10 - really, really well made film.
It's amazing how people manage to waste all that money and production opportunities, great actors saying the most inane parliaments with not even a hint of direction or knowledge of an overall story -- wasn't there really. Just truly awful, it pained me to see Rupert and Ron and this manure. The absolute worst is: having an actual woman as a piece of furniture. The women in this film were nothing more than decoration fetish objects. Only one woman has any lines in the whole thing (a too-young model-looking waif of a thing, love interest to... Ron Perlman??). She says about 7 different words. With an accent, 'cause the only way women may speak is sexy nonsense in a fake french accent. Gratuitous breasts everywhere, it made me actually uncomfortable and angry. This movie is the worst crap I have ever sat through. I kept hoping something would redeem it but then, another rape-y representation of a woman. Painfully unfunny. Not even the clichéd set ups were able to be paid off with awaited puns... just... nothing. Whoever directed this should never make films again and free money up for people who at least want to entertain an audience. I am INCENSED at this awful piece of excrement movie that stole time from me I will never get back. Everyone involved should be ashamed.
