A movie that not only functions as a solid scarefest but a razor-sharp satire.

It's funny, it's tense, it features two great performances from two actors and the director expertly creates a web of odd tension where you actually don't know what is happening for the majority of the run time.

what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.

Working as 2 cleaning ladies at a federal bank that has to destroy old bills is asking for trouble. Diane Keaton and Queen Latifah can't resist stashing away some money that would be destroyed anyway. Will they get away with it?I love this feelgood movie about a "bankheist" while no money is actually been stolen because it would have been destroyed anyway. Jokes are punchy. Acting is frivolous and funny. The story is to die for, because who wouldnt dream of unlimited amounts of money to be grabbed for free!Especially for the fun and feel good factor I love this flick. It is like making a movie about being a kid in a candystore with unlimited acces. Adults still love candy but know best that money cant buy happiness but it can buy anything else !

Don Cardigan (Ted Danson) tells his wife Bridget (Diane Keaton) that he's been fired for awhile and are $286k in debt. She can only get a janitor's job at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. She's amazed at the sight of all the money, and comes up with a scheme to steal the old cash with her fellow workers Jackie Truman (Katie Holmes) and Nina Brewster (Queen Latifah).Katie Holmes could have been in 'The Dark Knight' instead of this. There is just something very simplistic and unrealistic about the scheme. The movie is so light and fluffy. The girls should be much more serious. And the movie starts off at the end so that there is no danger of getting caught until that point. This should be a much more thrilling movie that it actually is, and it isn't funny as a comedy.

Diane Keaton, Queen Latifah, and Katie Holmes are in search of "Mad Money" in this 2008 comedy with Ted Danson, Christopher McDonald, and Adam Rothenberg.Bridget (Keaton) and her husband (Danson) are $260,000 in debt, and after losing his job, he hasn't been able to find another one. She goes out and gets a job working as on the cleaning staff of the Federal Reserve. When she sees all the money that gets shredded because it's old, she comes up with an idea - why not take it? She approaches the shredder, Nina (Latifah), who is a single mother with three children. Nina tells her she's out of her mind. If they get caught, Nina will lose her children. Bridget asks her to think about it. Then she approaches Jackie (Holmes), who brings the money to be shredded on her cart, while she's dancing and listening to music on her ipod. All three finally agree, and the women work out an elaborate plan, complete with a hand signal. Everything goes well until Bridget notices a strange man in her yard during a party...and sees him again at the Federal Reserve the next day. This film is reminiscent to "How to Beat the High Cost of Living," which was funnier, but "Mad Money" is amusing and clever with a strong cast or pros. Katie Holmes' was very good as a young, ditsy woman who thinks it all sounds like fun; Queen Latifah brings her usual warmth to her role of the nervous one in the group; and Diane Keaton is terrific as the greedy mastermind who pushes the boundaries and won't take no for an answer.Very enjoyable, a good rental.

I love movies that are done in this style. I think that the writers were very creative in how they told the story. This movie is about how these woman steal money from a government money shredding location. They shred the old money that is worn out and then send new money to replace it. these women find a very creative way to get the old money out of the complex and of course they become quite wealthy. I would recommend this movie to anyone looking for something that is entertaining and fun. there is a surprise at the end of the film but you will have to watch it to find out what that is. I gave this film 8 out of 10 stars.
