Brilliant and touching
If the ambition is to provide two hours of instantly forgettable, popcorn-munching escapism, it succeeds.
it is finally so absorbing because it plays like a lyrical road odyssey that’s also a detective story.
At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.
I don't care what the bad reviews say I enjoyed this movie. The acting, the story and the music was absolutely perfect for the movie. So what if Fred isn't blonde? That doesn't mean the movie is bad they just want a different approach for the franchise. My favourite scene: When Scooby and Shaggy meet for the first time. Overall good movie and it had an amazing song "You and I" which I listen to a lot.
Day 4 Of My 31 Days Of Horror 2.After the financial success of Scooby Doo and Scooby Doo 2 Monsters Unleashed Cartoon Network decided to release a prequel to the 2 films. They said if you loved the first two you will enjoy this. I highly disagree with that statement. The film follows Fred played by Robbie Amell Daphne played by Kate Melton Velma played by Hayley Kiyoko Shaggy played by Nick Palatas and Scooby Doo voiced by Frank Welker as they meet up with each other for the very first time. Thats about it.I do not really hate this movie but I was very let down. I love the performance done by Nick Palatas as Shaggy and I love the chemistry that Scooby Doo and Shaggy have in this film. But the performances done by Amell, Melton and Kiyoko are very poor and are seeming like they could just care less. Also the story in this film is very bland and uninteresting. I certainly hope the next one is better, Rated PG For Mild Peril.1hr 22min/82min.**/****
I disagree with the negative posts. Since when did any of us grow up looking the same? Not I. So Fred having brown hair in this "younger version of gang" did not bother me one bit. Change is good, we need that to stay away from being too repetitive as I am not a fan of that. I like changes. I too grown up with Scooby and seen every version including the newer ones. For fresh young new faces I thought they played their role excellent. This gang actually seem like they are having fun together! I felt the first two shaggy and Scooby were the only ones that played their role perfect. I also didn't feel that the gang were as connected either. As much as Scrappy was my less favorite but it had to do with the annoying voice than anything that was the one thing I didn't agree with in the first version is him being the bad puppy (laughing). But like I said change is good! I am hoping for more Scooby with this young gang!!!
Save your waking hours for something which might at least cause you to have a single original thought in the space of two hours, because this inane regurgitated pig swill will only ROT your brain and possibly cause you to stab out your own eyes and ears with blunt rusty scissors.See, this is why Tom Hanks' career is in decline... What with him squeezing the last rancid drops out of a movie franchise like this, (he has owned the rights since the first sequel), and choosing only to 'act' in Brookheimer crapfests like Angels and Demons...Tom, we used to love you... but for this we hate you... no more of this trash... PLEASE!
