Scooby-Doo! Curse of the Lake Monster
Scooby-Doo and the gang are on the case when a mysterious lake monster starts scaring the guests at a summer resort in Erie Point, where Fred, Daphne, Velma and Shaggy have taken on seasonal jobs to pay for a barn they accidentally burned down. But in addition to sneaking suspicions, there's some romance in the air.

Save your money for something good and enjoyable
a film so unique, intoxicating and bizarre that it not only demands another viewing, but is also forgivable as a satirical comedy where the jokes eventually take the back seat.
It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.
The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one
I disagree with the majority of the reviews on this one. I see it as a fitting tribute to Scooby and the gang. Yes, they changed a few things, but the spirit is still there. That being said, one of my sticking points is, yes, there is a shortage of our favorite Great Dane, but the scenes that feature are spot on to the characterization of him. The slapstick is great. I would recommend this if you go in with no expectations.
After the success of 'The Mystery Begins' it was no surprise to see the cast of that film return for more antics in these prequels to the live action Scooby films of the early 2000's.I think this one is much more of a homage to classic Scooby Doo, from the actors starting to wear much more 'traditional' costumes for their characters, to the inclusion of classic gags and monsters. The Shaggy/Velma love plot won't please everyone but it is well played by the actors who seem much more into their characters this time around. The only sticking point for me is the inclusion of the musical numbers that seem out of place with the rest of the film but that's only a small down side to what is actually a good fun film.
(Not sure if my review is spoiler, but just being careful) ~ The monster mystery team keeps solving more mysteries as they try to initially live out normal lives, this time right after school is out for the Summer. Whereas they have Summer jobs with Uncle Thorny who has a golf club right next to Lake Erie, & right next to a monster legend, all due to a cloaked & wart prone old witch who foreboded & warned the first settlers, but then later became a burning steak at the stake. Now she's back & out for revenge on the townsfolk as she gathers her vengeful momentum, by recollecting her bewitching gems. I missed this movie back in 2010 but am so grateful to finally see it, (Netflix). BTW NICK PALATAS' SINGING IS THE BOOM BLAST IN THE BOMB!!! Hope to see more Scooby Doo with the whole team.
My son, who is almost 5, has watched many scooby doo cartoons.A few nights ago, we rented this non-cartoon movie from that box that is red. ;) What a mistake that was... now he refuses to walk into certain parts of our home without holding our hand, even when it's 1pm!!! It's ridiculous. Before your brain starts to go there, my son is not a weenie kid. He enjoys big dogs, playing hide and seek in the dark basement, and roller coasters. Judging by the way he is acting, I doubt he'll like any of these things from now on. Very sad for me - his dad.Don't risk it like I did. If you have young children, I would highly advise passing on this movie!
