Just perfect...
Brilliant and touching
A story that's too fascinating to pass by...
It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.
Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues (2013) is a movie starring Will Ferrell, Christina Applegate, and Paul Rudd. With the 1970s behind him, San Diego's top-rated newsman, Ron Burgundy, returns to take New York City's first twenty-four-hour news channel by storm. Anchorman 2 is the sequel to the 2004 suprise that showed that Will Ferrell can actually be funny, one again the entire cast of the original reprises their roles and their all very very good in each specific thing that they do. As for the cameos? i loved Jim Carrey's and especially Harrison Ford's which was early on in the film. Definitely one of those rare cases where the sequel is just as good as the original movie was.
First thing's first - no, this is not as good as the original. But what sequel is? There was certainly plenty of laughs throughout the film, from the whole cinema. Sure, not all the jokes were amazing, but there was plenty of good slapstick and lots of great little quips. The premise is simple - it's now the 80s and Ron and the gang are in New York to start the first 24-hour-news network (CNN, or 'GNN' in the film - this provides some decent satire), and since it's the 80s, they have to progress with the times, including having a female boss (who's also black). The eight guest-star cameo's - don't worry, I won't ruin the surprise - for the news team battle are pretty funny and will have you going "is that really ___?!"That's my one issue with the film - it's a little long. Some scenes - such as the shark and the above-mentioned "battle" - go for longer than necessary and probably make it about 15min too long, clocking in at almost two hours. Also, was Josh Lawson the best choice as an Aussie to play a Rupert Murdoch-like character? But it's made up for by some truly laugh-out-loud moments, from finding out what they've all been up to since the first film and then some great sight gags and truly absurd moments.
i have to tell that this movie has more funny scenes and literally better than first part, they knew what to do with the every characters. i really loved watching this movie, i had tears while laughing so hard. steve carell was the best and i should say that they made use of him more than the first part... he got lot of scenes on to his pockets. Will Ferrell was one hell of man, he owns the spot light n he gives the best shot every time he steps in the camera.. baxter is epic as always.. when the climax hits with every country news channel with so many celebrities , i felt goosebumps all over my spine.. all together we must appreciate the director a lot because he made what we liked and i strongly recommend him to take 3rd part and i don't no , i think it should never end .. but please don't end any character in this movie.. everybody is a gem here. movie may b out of context in some portions but we can get so many messages through all the funny stuffs though, they make sense sometimes.. i didn't expect Meagan Good here.. that black word scene was out of box thinking. hope the series continues to excite us more n more.. love from India <3
Thank heavens that Adam McKay was allowed to make The Big Short because of this film, because it is the only acceptable reason for it existing.Anchorman 2 reunites most of the lovable cast of the original 2004 classic, but viewers would be forgiven for giving a sigh of pity. Each and every one of them looks sad and old in their makeup and wigs, especially Paul Rudd and Steve Carell. The latter, on the verge of his stunning performances in Foxcatcher and The Big Short, gives probably his worst ever performance in Brick Tamland, a lovable minor character in the first film but now just obnoxiously and intrusively stupid. I didn't enjoy even one of his scenes. Ferrell tries every now and then, but it falls to fresh faces like Josh Lawson and Greg Kinnear to actually inject the energy into the film. Kristen Wiig is cute but every scene she is in I hated because of how it was written for Carell. I cringe for Meagan Good and the tragically sexist and tokenistic role she was given.Anchorman wrapped up nicely, but Anchorman 2 promptly erases all of that by creating a new future for their characters. I hate that about sequels, especially because it breaks up Ron and Veronica (a la Ted and Jurassic Park, therefore ruining the first film for everyone). Ron's story of pushing puff news stories has its moments but is greatly undone by a blindness subplot and a family arc featuring a horrendous performance by Judah Nelson. Then there's the excruciating story of a shark which exists only to rehash the Baxter jokes from the first one.The film is not worth watching. Just YouTube the Josh Lawson scenes and the big Anchor fight that are the highlights of the film and don't subject yourself to the rest of it.
