The greatest movie ever made..!
just watch it!
Fresh and Exciting
Brilliant and touching
It's a strange little movie and it's a little hard to believe no one would notice the aliens in some scenes. There are some obvious cgi and compositing, but if you are the type like myself that gets a kick out goofs you might actually like it anyway. As for the humor itself, I liked it and did laugh out for some parts. If you were to make-believe what an experience for tiny people would be like, the situational writing is quite good and understandable. Ed Helms is interesting to see as the uptight and funnily named Number Two and he might be a surprise to some who might not have remembered that he was in this. I'm not promising you'll like it, but perhaps if you read more on the flaws before expecting anything great, it might be more tolerable. Seems to work with me.
An alien civilization is on the verge of collapse and they sent an orb that will suck up all the oceans to use the salt to power their world. Only it crashed into a little boy's room. Three months later, the boy's mother Gina Morrison (Elizabeth Banks) runs into a giant spaceship shaped like Eddie Murphy. It's a Hollywood coincidence. The alien world had sent the spaceship full of miniature aliens to track down the wayward orb.Eddie Murphy acting weird makes me believe that he could do an alien crashing on earth. If he plays a straight up alien trying to fit in, I think that's a movie that could be funny. This one is more of a gimmick unable to find its comedic legs. There are two problems with this movie. Making him a spaceship for aliens is a gimmick that separates the aliens from the humans. It doesn't allow for emotional interactions. It's cute and has some great visuals. But it doesn't make for a funny film. Secondly, the basic premise is that the aliens are here to destroy the world. It throws up more barriers to the audience to liking them. In the end, I don't really care about the aliens at all.
Saw this movie on television just lately and found it quite funny and original, with Star Trek references and more. It is amazing that the major part of the 'Hated it' reviews' in IMDb judge a movie on how realistic it is. If you think this movie is worth a 1 because it is unlikely that tiny creatures walk on the tongue of a space ship modeled as a man then you probably better refrain from posting reviews and stick to watching documentaries only. More and more I think that a low rating in IMDb means that I should see that movie which also means from time to time (only) it is really bad. But this movie certainly isn't! This is not our favourite Murphy movie (that is Coming to America) but it is certainly something different and a pleasure to watch.
Another great kids film by Eddie Murphy! :D A funny film which has an interesting plot and is great for people of all ages My little sister loved it and laughed pretty much all the way through.I don't know how people can write bad reviews on such a great film! It may not be the most exciting film in the world but hey! it's better then most. Has some great acting by most of the cast including Elizabeth Banks and Eddie Murphy. The film had a great ending and people shouldn't listen to the negative feedback :)-Jade-
