The biggest problem with this film comes in the first scene, where Tracy Morgan gives Bruce Willis an anniversary card. They've supposedly been working together for more years than dogs live, yet for the rest of the film you wonder if they've even spent more than than a car ride in each others company. Willis had more chemistry with the supposedly complete stranger, Samuel L Jackson, in Die Hard 3. Rookie cops, sure. Forced together cops, sure. But it's just straight out the gate. Which is a shame, as it also comes before probably the best scene in the film, where he's paying homage to some screen greats (including a film that Bruce Willis doesn't recognise), which gives Morgan a chance to shine.Putting Sean William Scott and Morgan together gives a few laughs, as they have the energy that could have driven this movie in a more Kevin Smith style direction (and maybe having them as two rookie cops might have been the way to go), while Willis and Jason Lee duke it out as more fatherly figures. Yet the leads personal obsessions - which tie in with what would in many films the main story of over the top drug dealings - means that the suspense gets a little lost/watered down, that Willis practically phones it in. Morgan seems to have more of a rapport with Michelle Trachtenberg - playing Willis's daughter - which probably says more about her skill than his.Given the amount of time Morgan has his back (on the phone) while the action is going on and other issues, it just doesn't seem to fit he'd have made ten years alongside Willis without his older partner asking for a transfer

This movie is about two policemen that try to solve a case, and they are supposed to be funny, a threadbare theme that we've seen many times, and in this case, the humour is pathetic.Bruce Willis (what is he doing here, he must be ashamed) has a partnership with Tracy Morgan (there is no chemistry between them), and here we have a problem: Morgan always tries to be funny, but all he can do is to shout or be exaggerated in almost all scenes, or can be even worst when he talks about his feces for minutes (nobody deserves it!!).The script is weak and forced, the protagonists are ludicrous, and even the music can't help that much. So, the best thing to do about this movie is forget it and do not lose your precious time with such crap.

Jimmy Monroe (Bruce Willis) and Paul Hodges (Tracy Morgan) are arguing NYPD partners in Brooklyn for 9 years. After a botched surveillance operation, they are suspended for a month by Captain Jack Romans without pay. Jimmy needs $48k for his daughter Ava (Michelle Trachtenberg)'s wedding. Stepfather Roy offers to pay and Jimmy takes offense. He tries to sell his valuable baseball card worth $83k but he is robbed by small time thieve Dave (Seann William Scott). Paul suspects his wife Debbie (Rashida Jones) is cheating on him with the next door neighbor Henry. It turns out that Dave sold the card to gang leader Poh Boy (Guillermo Díaz) who makes a deal with the guys to find his missing car.Tracy Morgan is going so wild that he's almost flailing for laughs. The chemistry with Willis never gets great but there are a couple of fun laughs. It's great to have Willis reference 'Die Hard' by claiming have never seen it. There are individual cute references and some funny moments but the overall sense is a mess of a buddy cop comedy. This could have been better with the talents involved. It feels like a comedy that is trying so hard that it falls flat.

I really enjoy Bruce Willis in about everything he does.. this one he wasn't near as rough and tumble as usual , he was really funny in this one. the story goes something like this.. Bruce's character has to pay for a wedding which he can't afford, because him and his partner got suspended because of a bad drug bust, his partner think 's his wife is cheating on him so he set's up a video camera in their bedroom,, so back to bruce, he decides to sell a rare baseball card worth lot's of money to pay for his daughter's wedding and make sure that the step dad doesn't show him up,, plans get foiled when the guy he sold it to his store get's robbed by the same bunch who him and his partner busted.. very funny movie,, good action and buddy cop laughs , not as good as other Bruce Willis movies ,, this one is more for the laughs.. and sorta of a spoof in many ways of earlier buddy cop films.
