The Smurfs 2
The evil wizard Gargamel creates a couple of mischievous Smurf-like creatures called the Naughties that he hopes will let him harness the all-powerful, magical Smurf-essence. But when he discovers that only a real Smurf can give him what he wants, and only a secret spell that Smurfette knows can turn the Naughties into real Smurfs, Gargamel kidnaps Smurfette and brings her to Paris, where he has been winning the adoration of millions as the world¹s greatest sorcerer. It's up to Papa, Clumsy, Grouchy, and Vanity to return to our world, reunite with their human friends Patrick and Grace Winslow, and rescue her! Will Smurfette, who has always felt different from the other Smurfs, find a new connection with the Naughties Vexy and Hackus or will the Smurfs convince her that their love for her is True Blue?

Too much of everything
Beautiful, moving film.
The film creates a perfect balance between action and depth of basic needs, in the midst of an infertile atmosphere.
The best films of this genre always show a path and provide a takeaway for being a better person.
Where do i even begin first off i didn't expect much from the trailer. but things got worse when i went to see it. it was like watching a bunch of 8 year olds running around the screen and stuff like that. i regret waste my time on this film the first one was pretty good but this is just trash. this movie is the main reason why i started hating cgi films. 1/10 for low expectations
Wow. How jaded and cynical do you have to be to give such scathingly negative reviews to a KIDS' MOVIE? People are complaining about it not having much "for adults" (which means what exactly? Sex and violence?)? Why would you expect much for adults in a movie about THE SMURFS?? I watched the first one, and I fully knew what to expect from the second one, and not only was I not bored or disappointed for whatever reason, but I was actually pleasantly surprised: I thoroughly enjoyed this movie, and I watched it all by myself on Netflix on my iPad, not in a movie theater with any small children. Of course, I grew up watching the Smurfs cartoon as a kid back in the 80s but if there's anyone out there in their late 20s or 30s who didn't, well, I'm sorry you missed out on your childhood. Maybe that's why you're so bitter. Compared to the first one I thought this was much better done. It addresses the origin story of Smurfette as explained in the original series, the plot and character development is interesting, and even Gargamel is more well-done this time too. It actually is darker and more intelligent in some ways than the first one, and Neil Patrick Harris's character's interaction with his boisterous and eccentric, but loving stepfather is heartwarming and positive. The ending is fairly predictable but how often is that not the case in these types of films anyway? This is nothing short of a good, wholesome family movie that I would recommend for anyone. But a selfish millennial who would rather take their child to see something THEY like even if it's wholly inappropriate for children probably won't agree.
First of all, I want to make it clear that this is a movie for kids. Not. For. Adults. When I look at the reviews, I only see people complaining about the fact that this movie is boring, too childish, too cheesy, etc, etc.But I want to make it clear that this movie isn't boring to children at all. My little sister likes this movie a LOT and she has watched it over and over.So when you say that this movie is really bad, your opinion is not accurate. In other words, it's a kid's movie, and kids like it.SO WHY COMPLAIN?!?!I really want people to shut up about the fact that this is for kids. They like it. So please shut up. Don't ruin the fun for the little ones please.Goodbye everyone.
I'm really puzzled by these reviews. Firstly, we have people saying they hated the first film but this is even worse. Excuse me, but what kind of stupid do you have to be to watch a sequel to a film you hated? Then there's people who complain that the film is for children? But hey, what did you expect? Well, I expected the worst, I never liked the Smurfs and I'm old enough to remember that awful song from the 70s. I've seen the McDonalds toys and I was prepared to hate this. But every Sunday we take our children to see a movie for a pound and this is what was on. I've seen Despicable Me 2, Turbo, Monsters University, Cloudy with Meatballs 2 and the Rise of the Guardians over the last few weeks on the same terms. I enjoyed those in varying degrees, but I wanted to give this one a miss. But it's for the kids, not me, so I went along. And I guess what, I actually enjoyed it.There's no point me regurgitating the plot, but highlights for me were Christina Ricci giving a bit of Wednesday to Vexy, the naughty sister Smurf, the one-dimensional pantomime baddie (he's behind you!) and the cat, which amused me if no-one else. The plot is not believable, according to some. Yeah, and you sat though Despicable Me 2 and Cloudy with Meatballs 2? The plot is consistent with the rules set for the movie, just go with it. And if your children like it, what's not to like for you?
