Slow pace in the most part of the movie.
Beautiful, moving film.
It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.
The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.
Great actors doing their thing. Great casting and story.
I like both J.K. Simmons and Emile Hirsch but that wasn't enough to make it a good movie. J.K. Simmons shouldn't be in a comedy, he just has not the face for it. The script was not well written, a quite boring story. Two guys going from one point to another trying to find their daughter/ex-girlfriend. The comedy factor was almost nihil to me. I guess I don't have the same sense of humor as other reviewers that thought it was hilarious. There is the odd joke every now and then but certainly not any that you will remember in the future. The positive thing about the movie is that it is not too long, so at least you don't feel like you wasted a lot of time. But if I knew what I know now I would just watch something else.
So Emile Hirsch and JK Simmons ... now that is a pairing that sounds fun. And I do understand if some may have expected something different from this. But as it is, this is a low budget comedy, dare I say road movie(?), that has a couple of things for it. And that's not just the actors themselves but the set up.While it's simple, it's also very effective and it does draw quite a few talented actors in smaller roles to rub shoulders with our lead actors. None of us is without fault, so it's not easy seeing others people misery. But when done in a light and funny way (mostly) like in this movie right here, it is quite enjoyable to take that ride. Don't expect this to have Academy Award performances though. Still decent enough overall
This is one of worst comedy movies. In fact it is so bad, that I am confused as to what genre it should belong to. Go watch something else. Not even a single dialogue or situation in this movie made me even grin. Stay away from this crap. In fact I would suggest you to go watch Adam Sandler instead, at least he is funnier. I would only suggest it if you got nothing better to do than watch this.
