Home Alone 2: Lost in New York
Instead of flying to Florida with his folks, Kevin ends up alone in New York, where he gets a hotel room with his dad's credit card—despite problems from a clerk and meddling bellboy. But when Kevin runs into his old nemeses, the Wet Bandits, he's determined to foil their plans to rob a toy store on Christmas Eve.

Don't listen to the Hype. It's awful
I enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.
The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.
All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.
Scott Scutt reckons this "movie" is better than the original 'breakout' performance by Culkin and a far superior piece of move history than films like The Godfather, Jaws, Star Wars, Toy Story, Airplane and even Saturday Night Fever. The reality is that, having never seen it, this is possibly one of the worsted movies in the entire world. Ever. Sad. What it lacks in depth it also lacks in width and height. Performances from the supporting cast who seem to be phoning it in to make a clearly bored Culkin's character half believable. With a plot echoing the first at what point does a serious adult step in and ask what the hell is going on and where this child's parents are...Seriously Scott, watch more movies and you will soon realise that this is simply a sub-par fart compared to most cinema of the early nineties.Merry Christmas!
My wife and I are just back from five days in New York and even though this movie was made 25 years ago, with so many of its landmarks unchanged, it certainly enhanced our enjoyment of the film especially as we'd somehow never seen it before.Watching it on the run-up to Christmas helped too but the fact of the matter is that the movie's highly entertaining and enjoyable anyway. I get that McCauley Culkin's goofy grin, floppy hair, big ears plus of course that scream of his might irritate some but I otherwise found all these plus his smartness and rebelliousness quite acceptable.I enjoyed the way the writer and director, knowing that this is a sequel bound to end up with the same slap-sticky, booby-trapped conclusion as its mega-successful predecessor found a clever and even credible way to separate Kevin again from his family. I loved the New York winter locations while on the acting side, I equally enjoyed the cameo as toy-store owner Mr Duncan by veteran Eddie Bracken, who starred in so many great Preston Sturges films of the 40's. John Williams also delivers a playful soundtrack in keeping with the frivolities depicted on the screen. In these and other ways, director Chris Columbus harks back to those Golden Age Hollywood days, not by coincidence is "It's A Wonderful Life" referenced again in one of his movies, but here too he contributes a lasting seasonal classic which I dare say will likewise be watched and enjoyed by families at Yule time down the years.
This film premiered on Friday, November 20, 1992 in the United States, again directing Chris Columbus.Synopsis:The McCallisters prepare to go on vacation to Florida. The day before Kevin has to sing Christmas carols with his school. The whole family attends and an accident occurs...Kevin must apologize to his family, but he does not believe that it was his fault and does not ask for forgiveness. He is punished to sleep in the attic and, when the vans arrive to take them to the airport (this time the McCallister goes to Miami instead of Paris), they have fallen asleep again. They begin the rush and everyone goes to the airport. This is where Kevin gets distracted from his parents and takes a plane to New York. New York also comes the "Wet Criminals", who have escaped from prison and want to hit a toy store. But they have not counted on Kevin ...Review:Even better than its predecessor! For me, it surpasses much to the first part for entertainment and this thanks to the new adventure of Kevin, now it gets stuck in the city that never sleeps and the wet bandits escaped from prison after 9 months of confinement. Things get even more complicated, since Kevin now has a credit card and a lot of money leading him to be discovered for theft. Very good family movie that, yes, is scarce in argument because in this sequel we see the same as before, but I still love it and prefer it instead of the original. Now it has new fun characters like the manager of the Plaza Hotel and the bellhop played by a nice Rob Schneider. The characters of the bandits are again super fun and even more in the classic traps of the end. They are also classic movies that Kevin sees at the hotel and plays with workers, brilliant. Again, Kevin will have a friend who will protect him in this cold environment, in this case he will be a woman who roams the Central Park and who owns many birds as he feeds them. The final message is the same family member of course, leaving us with a great movie that after its predecessor we yearn for more. "Guess who is alone in New York this Christmas. He gets up in his bedtime in the city that never sleeps. "- Home Alone.
The whole movie "Home Alone 2: Lost in New York" was a much better story than the original "Home Alone", even though it did have a lot of the same dumb moments in the movie. Things like Kevin's supposed stories getting him access to a plane to New York and entry to an expensive hotel room. Then his family's insult to Florida with their supposed bad experience. For crying out loud, they whine about being stuck inside the hotel because of the rain in Florida, yet I hate to tell you this, but snow (which they seem to like) is simply frozen rain. Then, while they're still in Florida, Kevin can get things for himself by simply telling people stupid stories, and out of nowhere he has just what he needs to torture the hotel workers and the criminals. It gets especially bad when he makes the remodeling house of his relatives the center of torture for the same criminals. The scenario is a lot like and maybe even worse than the original movie; he nearly does enough to murder the criminals and things that could possibly destroy the entire house itself.Although I did like the characters like the Pigeon Lady and Mr. Duncan from the toy store, but that was about it. The scenarios with things like Kevin's tricks on the hotel employees (things that would hopefully get police called), alongside his supposed brilliant catch of the criminals using his torture. Note, after all of this he actually does call the police effortlessly. The whole movie is, for the most part, unbelievable and dumb as well.
