everything you have heard about this movie is true.
It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.
Not sure how, but this is easily one of the best movies all summer. Multiple levels of funny, never takes itself seriously, super colorful, and creative.
An old-fashioned movie made with new-fashioned finesse.
Escape room is not a good movie but i have seen worst. With some tweaks it could have been a tad better. The characters are shallow and unlikeable. I got a serious problem with one of the puzzle which only could be solved with very specific knowledge. The movie overall suffers from illogical choices made by the director / script writer so dont waste time on this movie and watch something good.
If you like puzzle movies with gore and mystery blend together, this is for you. This is similar to the "Cube" and other isolated escape from a confined place movies. We never get to know why it's happening to them. If this the start of a franchise, I'll skip my remarks about the lack of story. Movie got potential, I'd suggest it.
Today i went to the cinema to watch the movie Escape Room.My thoughts on this movie are:Characters are uninteresting. There are 3 couples . 1 who are very into each other, 1 that pretty much hate each other and 1 who pretend to love each other. Each of the actors are bland they have very uninteresting dialogue. To make the story short: They had dinner with each other in a restaurant. The horny chick had to pay the bill and after dinner they said goodbye to 1 of there friends who went to a other party and the rest of them went to the "escape room", The puzzles are boring and the death scenes are predictable everything inbetween is boring and when the final chick left the van after she was released for whatever reason went to seek help and ended up calling the cops, while calling for help her conversation was somehow hacked (? ) by the people who killed her friends and told her that she is a awful person who caused her friends to die and that she should feel bad. End of story.
There are two films out with the same title. The other film is directed by Peter Dukes and involves a more traditional "escape room." Three couples who know each other very well decide they are going to enjoy an upscale escape room. Christen (Elizabeth Hower) is separated from the group who are having fun solving puzzles that tended to be tougher than most escape rooms. And then the fun and games stop and they realize they are risking their lives. The film had some interesting moments watching them solve the puzzles. The production needed another scene or two to establish character and introduce multiple motives and decent back story. DVD includes bloopers, deleted scenes, director commentary.Guide F-word and Nudity (Elizabeth Hower)
