The Scooby Doo Show premiered on ABC in September 1976 as part of The Scooby-Doo-Dynomutt Hour, in which new episodes of Scooby Doo shared an hour with a superhero dog named Dynomutt. It was a revamped version of Scooby Doo, Where Are You? which started on CBS in 1969.

For the 1978-1979 season Scooby's All-Star Laff-A-Lympics was reduced to 90 minutes and re-titled Scooby's All-Stars. This season aired from September 9, 1978 to September 8, 1979 on ABC: The Scooby-Doo Show (3rd season; episodes 11-16), Laff-A-Lympics (2nd season) and Captain Caveman and the Teen Angels (2nd season).

Scooby's All Star Laff-A-Lympics is a two-hour Saturday morning animated series produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions that aired from September 10, 1977 to September 2, 1978 on ABC. It was also the first such 120-minute Saturday morning cartoon in television network history, and contained the following segments: The Scooby-Doo Show (2nd season), Laff-A-Lympics (1st season), The Blue Falcon & Dynomutt and Captain Caveman and the Teen Angels (1st season)

Before disappearing, Uncle Albert made some enemies and it is up to Shaggy and his trusty canine, Scooby-Doo, to defeat those enemies, the most dangerous of whom is evil Dr. Phineas Phibes. Armed with the upgraded Mystery Machine, a loyal robot servant and their new riches, Shaggy and Scooby must stop Dr. Phibes' evil plans and save the world.

The original thirty-minute version of Scooby-Doo and Scrappy-Doo constitutes the fourth incarnation of the Hanna-Barbera Saturday morning cartoon Scooby-Doo. It premiered on September 22, 1979 and ran for one season on ABC as a half-hour program. A total of sixteen episodes were produced. It was the last Hanna-Barbera cartoon series to use the studio's laugh track. Cartoon Network's classic channel Boomerang reruns the series.
