Season 7
The Croods and the Bettermans return with more misadventures on the farm as Grug’s over indulgence in Phil’s experimental hair growth formula has hair raising consequences, and Dawn wrestles with critiquing her mother’s beloved beetball recipe. But when Eep finds herself competing in an Alphafight (a tournament where animals fight to determine the dominant species) she must choose between making her kooky family proud or disrupting the balance of the croodimal kingdom forever!
Season 6
The Croods and the Bettermans are back and battling over which kooky croodimal to crown “best pet” while Eep is skeptical of the farm’s newest visitor, and Gran’s feathered frenemy, Malachi. Thunk recruits Dawn on a quest for an ancient stash of legendary snacks, and Phil’s “Greatest Inventor Whoever Lived” title is tested when Grug discovers an old, subterranean cave filled with inventions far more advanced than anything prehistory has ever seen.

Despite the title, the two segments remained separate and did not crossover with one another. Fred, Barney and the Thing were only featured together during the show's opening title sequence and in brief bumpers between segments. The unusual combination of a Marvel superhero and The Flintstones was possible because, at this time, Marvel Comics owned the rights to several Hanna-Barbera franchises and were, in fact, publishing comic books based upon them; The Flintstones was one of these.
For the 1979-80 season, the series was expanded to ninety-minutes with the addition of The New Shmoo episodes and retitled Fred and Barney Meet the Shmoo.
