Brewster and Zephie are practising using the crane car, and Zephie falls over, pretending to be hurt, but Brewster doesn't control the crane properly, and goes back to the depot sad. Chatsworth is on the mainline and his hopper brakes seize on a hill, and Brewster is the only one who can help - and rushes to Chatsworth's rescue with the water car.

Hodge and Koko challenge each other to do as many jobs as possible, with the chugger doing the most winning; however, Hodge only seems to be finding things that need fixing by Eddie that technically don't need fixing.
