Season 4
The fourth season kicks off with an investigation into the Titanic and its infamous demise. Among the other site explored in the new season are Pompeii’s last unexplored quarter, the Bent Pyramid in Egypt and the lost city of Tikal located deep inside the Guatemalan jungle.
Season 3
The third season reveals how the ancient Egyptians built Karnak by raising an obelisk using traditional techniques; uncovers the secrets of the lost fortresses of the Viking Age; looks for the Kublai Khan's hidden Yuan Palace in China; and it joins investigators uncovering nearly 1000 years of history beneath the Statue of Liberty.

The second series explores the mysteries of twelve ancient wonders: The Tomb of Tutankhamun, the Great Sphinx at Giza, the Mexican pyramid city of Teotihuacan, the Egyptian temple complex at Karnak, Cambodia’s Angkor Wat, Scotland’s Stirling Castle, Stonehenge, the Taj Mahal, the Inca city of Machu Picchu, China’s ancient Terracotta Army, Jordon’s secret city of Petra and the Coliseum at Rome.

This team of specialists changed throughout the series' run, although has consistently included professional archaeologists such as Mick Aston, Carenza Lewis, Francis Pryor and Phil Harding. The sites excavated over the show's run have ranged in date from the Palaeolithic right through to the Second World War.
