It's hard to see any effort in the film. There's no comedy to speak of, no real drama and, worst of all.

WWE's 2008 Royal Rumble will never be forgotten, by me at least.I did not order it live, but I purchased it on DVD. Let me tell you, It was an amazing event! By far one of my favorite Royal Rumble event's of all time; and also one of my favorite WWE events of all time period. All of the matches and the Rumble match itself was great and very entertaining.Ric Flair vs. MVP: This was a bit disappointing because when I first heard about the match I thought "a great new Yound wrestler (MVP) and a veteran wrestler who is one of the best ever (Ric Flair)". It did not turn out GREAT but it was certainly good. Ric Flair proved that he can still wrestle extremely well even for a man of his age.Rey Mysterio vs. Edge: By far my least favorite match of the night but ultimately entertaining. Nothing spectacular.Randy Orton vs. Jeff Hardy: Hands down the best match of the night. This is one of my all time favorite matches in WWE history. Yeah that's right, one of my favorite matches ever! Jeff and Orton have so much chemistry together in the ring (atleast in my opinion). Man I could watch these two wrestle each other on every WWE show and event. It was just a breath taking match.2008 Royal Rumble: One of my favorite Rumbles in WWE History. John Cena wins his first Royal Rumble, and not only that, but he returns after a serious injury and surprises everyone. Everybody in this match got a little bit of action in (except Finlay and SAntino Marella) and lasted a good amount of time. It was nice to see Tommy Dreamer and Hardcore Holly actually beating up people. haha! John Morrison and The Miz hung on for so long and proved their worth. There was heat between Shawn Michaels and the Undertaker which is always cool. There was everything I wanted in this match.Overall a great ppv event final rating 8/10

The Royal Rumble is always entertaining as usual, and this one was no exception. However I thought the Rumble could of been a bit better considering how many star wrestlers were in the Rumble.FIRST MATCH- RIC FLAIR VS. MVP IN A CAREER THREATENING MATCH IF RIC FLAIR LOSES HE MUST RETIRE FROM WRESTLING Not much of a smart way to open up the event, but the crowd was widely involved which was a good sign. Pretty much disappointed with this match as it was too slow and sloppy, MVP is a good wrestler and Flair should of carried him throughout this match. Flair wins after making MVP tap out to the Figure 4 Leg Lock. 4/10SECOND MATCH- CHRIS JERICHO VS. JBL Was not expecting much from this one, but it turned out pretty average. Jericho is an excellent performer, while JBL still shows signs of ring rust after being on Smackdown commentating for at least a year and a half. Pretty brutal match with a bit of a crappy finish, JBL wins by DQ after Jericho hits him with a chair. 5/10THIRD MATCH- EDGE {CHAMPION} VS. REY MYSTERIO FOR THE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP Again this was nothing more than a pretty much average match, which is a bit of a disappointed since these two are capable of producing high quality matches. Good wrestling throughout this one, as both kept the pace going, but it could have been a bit more better. Edge wins after spearing Mysterio in mid-air. 5/10FOURTH MATCH- RANDY ORTON {CHAMPION} VS. JEFF HARDY FOR THE WWE CHAMPIONSHIP The weeks of buildup leading into this match was superb and excellent booking. However I am disappointed about the outcome of this match. This match had good wrestling, but only 15 minutes of solid action does not give it justice. Orton predictable wins after an RKO on Hardy. Jeff Hardy certainly is main event calibre. 5/10FIFTH MATCH- ROYAL RUMBLE MATCH I was reading throughout the boards and comments, and this Rumble match was given such good and positive reviews. When I watched it, I thoroughly enjoyed this Rumble match, however it was a bit slow at times. I was not expecting Cena to win and I don't think anyone else did also. Entertaining as usual, but could of been a bit better as what is the point of Jimmy Snuka and Roddy Piper coming in the Rumble when they have no chance of winning it. John Cena shockingly makes a surprising return and FU's HHH over the top rope to win the Rumble. 7/10This year's Royal Rumble was given a lot of good comments by those posting on these boards. I thought it was a very good event, however some of the matches were just put on the card to make the event pad out. The Royal Rumble was entertaining, and Cena winning it has got to be the biggest shocker in WWE History. Overall I was quite impressed with the WWE on this one.Overall I'll give it a 7/10 and a C+

2008's Royal Rumble won't be remembered as much as 2007's Royal Rumble but overall it was fair. However MVP vs Ric Flair and Chris Jericho vs JBL were a colossal bore. Bradshaw needs to return to Smackdown! promto with Michael Cole on the broadcasting booth and as far away from the ring as possible. I didn't blame for Jericho for this crap brawl except for Y2J's punches they looked terrible, but Bradshaw thinks he's main event material and he's not. MVP on the other hand deserved a better opponent, Flair apparently still believing it's 1985, still thinks he can defeat every up and coming superstar on the roster, how pathetic's that? With fans and this writers mood getting erratic, I was relived to see some real action. The WWE and World Heavyweight's championship matches were off the charts good. The Rey Mysterio vs Edge match was very good however with a few cock ups in the match such as Rey's botched head scissors on Edge. The Randy Orton vs Jeff Hardy match was a pleasant surprise, Hardy really worked hardy here but he still looks pretty ropy and always appears to be in constant pain. Orton scored the pin after an RKO.Moving onto the Rumble, it was fairly good but won't be remembered like last years. The Undertaker drew number 1 and Shawn Michaels drew number 2, fancy that hey, I thought the wrestlers picked their numbers at random, obviously they don't (The last 2 last year were HBK and Taker).A few things surprised me the fans POPPED big time for Tommy Dreamer, Jamie Noble, Mick Foley,Carlito and Mr Kennedy, they even chanted their names. Jimmy Snuka and Roddy Piper appeared both looked awful and Piper should have never have removed his shirt, Kane thankfully eliminated them. Umaga eliminated the old, boring Hardcore Holly to the sound of cheers and when Mick Foley entered he could hardly breathe and blew up and could hardly move. My guess is Foley was glad when Triple H eliminated him from the match. The surprise was John Cena returning at no 30, the fans cheered but soon booed him when they clapped eyes on his punches (yes they still suck) Cena last eliminated Triple H to win the Rumble match. Results: Ric Flair defeated MVP in a pointless bore which lasted just 7:29 (not that anyone was complaining), JBL defeated Chris Jericho via DQ in a mediocre match. Edge pinned Rey Mysterio in a good match to retain the title. Randy Orton defeated Jeff Hardy in a fine match up. John Cena won the Rumble.Grade - B/C

To some, a great pay-per-view is when a violent match, such as Hardcore, tables, or something like takes place. others consider a long grueling match. others just like to see titles change hands. in this pay-per-view, there was none of that. The royal rumble match itself stank. it was disappointing to see tommy dreamer get knocked out of the ring (be it that he was the only ECW original left) and it was even more disappointing to see Finlay was not in the rumble, thanks to a stupid gimmick.Folks, don't buy this on DVD, as a matter of fact, leave it alone. it's not worth more than 20 dollars, even live.
