Absolutely brilliant
Great movie! If you want to be entertained and have a few good laughs, see this movie. The music is also very good,
If you like to be scared, if you like to laugh, and if you like to learn a thing or two at the movies, this absolutely cannot be missed.
Truth or Dare is not only original but very well may shock you. It resonates intelligence long after the final credits. It's written and directed with brilliant professionalism, not normally shown in a first time director. Yet, the veteran actress Jessica Cameron shows such perfection it's impossible to believe it's her first. The film, itself, dealing with a web based team of Daredevils, who eventually meet their stalking, and quite creepy number one fan. Played exquisitely by Ryan Kiser, who, obviously relished his role and at times, is reminiscent of A manic Tony Perkins Psycho character. As the story plays out to the groups hostage and demise, at the hands of the obsessed Derik, revelation after revelation is revealed about each member. Secrets hidden away from each of their best friends. Not only does Derik tear them down from the outside, but internally as well. His obsession and desire to be a member leads not only to his destroying the group he loved most, but spins him into a madness from which there is no escape. The individual performances are far superior to most indie offerings. The color palette is reminiscent of something by Dario Argento. Ms. Cameron's debut shows the the promise of the best new talent in horror, and not just as a woman talent. Dare I say the most important voice in Horror since Clive Barker. I believe I just did...Give it a watch, if you Dare!
Well Jessica Cameron your movie was excellent. It must have been a difficult shoot but with Rush Energy Drinks it made it simpler. I like everybody in the cast. Ryan Kiser is terrific as Derek. I am sure he worked a lot on his posture. Heather Dorff and Devanny Pinn are amazing actresses. They can play any roles. Every dare are calculated. The special practical effects are really interesting. Every role had the best actor in my opinion. Congrats to the entire cast and crew! I will tell my friends that like horror movies to watch it. I wish this movie was shown during Halloween. I am hoping for another Truth or Dare movie.
Oh, where to start... I'm shocked there's so many positive reviews, which leads me to believe they're all fake. The director did ask people to score it a 10 at all of the festival screenings... There's nothing good about the film at all. The plot is not at all original. It's basically a cheap copy of Among Friends, which is a far superior film. The dialogue is dire, the 'acting' is woeful, and it looks like it was shot on a webcam, sound and all. Seriously terrible. Reviews are saying people left the screens over the gore, but in my case many left because they were bored. Cameron has a decent insight into the current film industry and where it's going, but she also thinks she is a savior for the genre, which couldn't be further from the truth.
I'm going to keep this very short and to the point. I loved watching this movie and even more so, I enjoyed watching it in the company of Jessica Cameron at Crypticon Seattle. Without giving anything away, this will show you things that you didn't know about yourself as well as others. And stuff you hope to never find out. The movie did what any good movie should do and evoke an emotion. Be it Joy, Disgust, Praise, Hatred, Glee, Depression, the sign of any good movie should move you in some way. This movie did that for me and will do the same for you. Jessica, thank you for knowing and showing that boundaries are what we make them. Keep pushing and we'll keep watching. Thank you.
