The original Howling movie was a classic. The sequals have paled in comparison and Howling 3 was a joke. Howling 5 is very good, and had its moments. Being inside a very old medieval castle and trapped, while each person is killed one by one is chilling. This was a tense and almost dark movie. The very beginning scene showed a massacre of dead people from the year 1489 in the castle. Then it switched to 1989 and a selected group of strangers go on a bus to stay in a castle. Inside the castle is a werewolf but which one of those people is it? I know, but not saying.

The howling 5 1989Well this is like the Halloween 3 of this series , as there are only two/there brief moments of seeing werewolf in this movieThe opening scene was intruding , a couple who kill them self for some reason but you can here av baby crying in the back ground in the castle then the movie fast forwards , I forget how many yearsA number of stranger end up into same castle and there are picked of one by one by a werewolf. We don't get to see much of attack , only the aftermath of the death , so this did not much werewolf or even that gore.they later then sooner figure out that one of them is the werewolf. soon people start to kill each other, thinking they are the werewolf and the never actually tell you or show who actually werewolf but they do Seem to imply who it was the whole timeMore of a who done it movie then werewolf movie and the acting in the movie was some of the worst in the series3/10

When a group of people from different walks of life converge in a Hungarian castle situated in Budapest which has been sealed for 500 years, they bring with them a werewolf which slowly begins to cut their numbers down.As I like to say, I would rather watch a bad 1980s horror film than a bad 2010s horror film. This is a prime example of that. While it has very little redeeming about it (trying to latch on the disreputable "Howling" franchise is its first mistake), I still like the general 1980s style of horror film better than many of the failures made today. Some have compared this to Agatha Christie's "And Then There Were None", which is probably fair. But if you are going to do that, you may as well compare it to "The Beast Must Die", which was a werewolf film that followed a similar concept. And heck, "Beast" is a great film... much better than this one.

The one thing I liked most about this movie is that it manages to maintain suspense and created an environment suitable and pretty enjoyable for a horror movie. It started with a bunch of tourists gathered for the reopening of an old castle after 500 years. The castle looked awesome.People gathered there as the lucky ones chosen for the castle opening unaware of the horrible truth of what lies ahead. They were being set up to play a bloody game of who is werewolf? Aware of the fact that one is a werewolf among them, you will keep guessing till last, and that's how this film is successful in getting viewer's attention. But its not that the movie is flawless. It would have taken a bit more to make Howling:Rebirth,a top notch movie of this genre.Despite of good plot the weak direction hurdled smoothness of storyline. For instance(spoiler..),the killings should have been shown in much effective & gruesome manner,I never saw the werewolf properly in any of the scene. Howling:Rebirth is being shot at Budapest:Hungary. So of the scenic beauty at the beginning of movie is really good. I liked the concept of ice storm. So best time to enjoy this movie is late, cold night where you can get the proper feel of some of the scary scenes.
