The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one

There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes

This movie has too many things wrong with it. I love watching empowered women on the screen, but there's no great shakes if you get there by caricaturing everyone else. Radhika Apte is a great actress. But that atrocious script. Which teenage blogger did they flick it from? Even Radhika seems self-conscious as if she is in some kind of spoof. You can almost see her breaking out of character and laughing at how ridiculous the plot and her character is. Such a waste of talent. Zoya Akhtar's bit. Wow. If Zoya was given ten more minutes, we could have gotten to see more shots of Bhumika with an expectant face fold the bath towels, Bhumi with an expectant face put detergent powder in the washing machine, Bhumi with an expectant face fetch milk from a cow, Bhumi with an expectant face bargain the price of onions, Bhumi with an expectant face make mango pickles. You get the point. By putting her nose to the grindstone while the rest of the "elite" do smalltalk and drink tea, I guess Zoya was trying to win your sympathy towards Bhumi who incidentally was also sleeping with the man of the house. Bravo. RIP screenwriting. Koirala's bit. By the time I got to this part, I had lost any hope that this movie would be a sensitive portrayal of an extra-marital affair intertwined with male friendship. And boy, this bit didn't disappoint at all. As much thought was put into this script as I put into brushing my teeth in the morning. Koirala looks like a boss, albeit somewhat haggardly, because she shares the frame with two bumbling idiots, she wouldn't be caught dead sleeping with. KJo's bit. Holy batman! Why were those two schoolteachers always dressed like they were teaching fine arts at a brothel? And grow up Bollywood. Masturbation. Sex toys. Premature ejaculation. These are commonplace. Don't milk it dry because you can.I gave myself three stars for sitting through this movie, but then didn't know what do with them stars so I am passing it on to this movie.

An anthology film directed by some of the best directors in the Hindi film industry, dealing with the complex sexual and relationship dynamics in this diverse country called India. All four movies were great. Karan Johar brought a much needed lighter vibe to the rather bleak ensemble. The best segment was the Zoya Akhtar one with the character played by Bhumi Pednekar who underplayed it to perfection. The first segment with Radhika Apte was the second best which shows a young married woman grappling with the sexual freedom in modern India. Karan Johar segment was the third best about a newly married middle class couple discovering each other's sexual needs. I'll rate the Dibakar Banerjee segment as the weakest probably because it's trying to show the tangle couples get into after several years of marriage with no way out. I thought it was too on the nose and needed better handling.

The first plot is really good. Radhika Apte is a genuine actress. She did very well in her role. The second part, it doesn't make any sense. What is the actual message here? The third part, very weak plot but the actress did her job superbly. The 4th plot, I always thought Karan Johar make meaningless movies but here he opened new side of his direction level.

The movie title should be named 4 lonely women in urban india. radhika apte as in previous movies picks up controversial roles and gets attention. The director forgets that teacher teaches in a college or university. other than sex, nothing else is mentioned. apte feels insecure when another girl comes in her student's life. no one else talks about them as if it is a usual relation. i think life of french president is more worthy of a film. while pednekar suits her role, i don't get what was it all about. then the part of koirala comes. then the next story, i don't think any teacher would talk to a parent like that. I give 2 stars because actors look professional, otherwise don't waste your time watching this. in a world where free porn is available 24x7 thanks to a big industry behind it. In the past we had films like devanand's guide, which talked about prostitute, yet here we are with the title lust stories, which is a clever use human trait of Curiosity to get attention, beyond that there is nothing in it. like many other terms in use today, "women sexuality" is only cliche, nothing more. Even in our epics, there is a discussion of women's sexuality. remember shurpanakha in ramayan, who overcome by lust even instigates ravan. ravan full with lust looses his empire, family and life. Whats the point of this film, other than marketing of netflix, to promote its big entry in india and to get more customers.
