Take Me Home
In New York City, Thom is broke and jobless, illegally working as a taxi driver. Claire is a successful business-woman, but personally she's in shambles - then comes the phone call that her estranged father is in the hospital. Not knowing what to do, Claire hops in Thom's cab and orders him to just drive and so he does. They find themselves in Pennsylvania and Claire makes the rash decision to drive across the country to California. On the road, there are many detours as the obstacles and secrets force them to learn about themselves and each other.

Waste of time
Very very predictable, including the post credit scene !!!
Overrated
It's a mild crowd pleaser for people who are exhausted by blockbusters.
I watched this movie based on the generally strong reviews, but I was sourly disappointed and felt compelled to write a counterpoint. Whatever chemistry led the lead actors to marry in real life failed to translate to the screen. Their conversations are humorless and devoid of the charm that makes good romantic comedies compelling. The suspension of disbelief required to swallow the characters' evolution is just too much. Imagine learning someone is a murderer and shrugging it off (not that this exactly happens in the movie, but that's what it felt like).Amber's emotional range is mostly expressed via her hair style, and Sam.... Not an actor. Stick with directing.I found this movie to be sub par.
The premise of this movie might scare you off, but don't let it! I typically don't like romantic comedies, or "meet cute" situations. And this movie is about a guy who drives a fake cab who picks up a distressed woman, and then they drive across the country together. Hmmm... But this movie is really smart and thoughtful, and it made me laugh genuinely several times--as well as tear up. The two leads have lovely, subtle chemistry and the plot ramps up in a believable way. The characters are grown ups and relatable and everything isn't black and white. Plus, the cinematography is lovely as well. I really loved this movie--give it a chance.
Take Me Home is one of THE best movies i've seen in a long time. A romantic comedy with a fairy tale ending. No violence, no blood, no screaming, no special effects, no sex, nothing phony - just great writing, great casting, great acting, a great soundtrack and a yellow taxi. It's funny, sad, tender, and simply REAL - it's just as if you're watching it all unfold in real time. How come there aren't more movies like this? I can't believe this wasn't in the theaters. And who are these Jaegers? Sam Jaeger wrote, directs and stars as a down on his luck photographer who drives a taxi in New York City to make ends meet - and his (real life) utterly exquisite wife Amber steals your heart as the fare from heaven who doesn't like to fly and wants him to drive her 3,000 miles to see her dad who just had a heart attack and is in the hospital in San Diego. A road trip across the country to remember. Sign me up for the next one you two make...
I got the same sensation when I watch for first time little miss sunshine or Juno, this one for me Take Me Home is the Indie Movie of the Year!I will not label it as Romantic Comedy at all, for me is a Road Movie with a very good script, good acting very good music ( had remember me Into The Wild, not because Eddie Vedder, more because was always on the right spot, driving you through the movie ) and awesome Sam Jaeger, directing for first time and lead actor.I'm a very disappointed that this movie didn't get more promotion, this is a movie that would break the box office if there were some good promotion from the distributors. For me the indie movie of the Year!
