This movie is the proof that the world is becoming a sick and dumb place
Beautiful, moving film.
Instead, you get a movie that's enjoyable enough, but leaves you feeling like it could have been much, much more.
The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.
The theme of the movie deals with illegal buissness involving all kinds of people even the ones you didnt expect. It is a kind of mixed horror story since our guys get trapped in a house seeking desperately to find an escape before getting killed. Sure the main character survives and the rest get all punished, just like the movies Lord of War and I spit on your Grave it is based in a true actual account, it is highly enjoyable, i recomnend it to anyone.
In all honesty, this movies start's with the makings of a half decent thriller. Until, the storyline withered rapidly into an orgy of cheese-tardation, leaving this film in the realm of B-movies, if not TV movies. For example: Brea (the main character) get's into a car to try and get away from her pursuer, she puts the key in the ignition of the vehicle, and guess what happens? - The car doesn't start!I mean, seriously, either there's a HELL of a lot of cars in America that people have parked in their driveway that don't start, or, it's lazy, lazy, LAZY scriptwriting... It's so pathetic! That's basically how the storyline progresses; It gets cheesier, cheesier, and even cheeeesier... Until it's lost any glimmer of hope!Bottomline, the storyline is incredibly weak and juvenile spoiling any slight trace of potential it had in the first place! If you're looking for a no-nonsense, adult, gripping thriller movie, then this isn't for you! However, check out the British film 'Calibre', as that movie will fit your requirements.
It had me scared for a while, its not a great movie. But is alright for a boring day.
I took and chance and ignored the negative reviews based on the lead actress, Paula Patton. While not an "A" list actress, she has done a good job in several other movies I liked (2 Guns, Deja Vu). This movie was bad right from the start. Her character moved at at 33&1/3 thru the whole movie. Either she was stoned or had marbles in her mouth because her speech was slurred most of the time. And for a reporter, she made the most stupid decisions at every turn. I found myself hoping she would just get shot and/or killed as a mercy killing for the audience, just to me out of my misery from sitting thru this film. Instead of making bad decisions that got others killed, she should have fallen on her sword/typewriter in the first five minutes and spared everyone a lot a pain and suffering. Save yourselves the pain and suffering and watch one of her other movies instead. You'll be much better off.
