It's not great by any means, but it's a pretty good movie that didn't leave me filled with regret for investing time in it.

This story has more twists and turns than a second-rate soap opera.

Yeah I truly did see this film when it came out in back in 1980. In fact, at that time me and my friends would go see just about everything that came out. First off let me just say that I have seen and been subjected to the worst movies of my life during those days, but nothing could have prepared me for the horror that was The Apple. What can I say that has not already been mentioned here on this site? But truly this is one of the worst movies. In fact, when I left the theater on that fateful day, I remember a feeling of nausea that has never left me since then. If you know whats good for you, stay away from the apple for gods sake. And if you cant, please bring sunglasses so that the horror will not as bad and you wont loose your hair in the awfulness of it all. Good luck and may your eyes survive.

I have buddies who are MST3k fans, so I've seen some of the worst films of all time. Outlaw of Gor, Laserblast ,Killer Shrews, the utter garbage on the SciFi channel, and of course, Manos, Hands of Fate.I hate this movie more then all the above. There is simply no excuse for how bad it is. Look at the credits. Some of those people even had TALENT. It looks like when they started, the project had MONEY. But they squandered both. It's so outrageously painful to experience. The off-key singing. The falling apart sets and props. The ridiculous "special effects". The random editing, the sometimes missing audio. The COSTUMES! oh, the costumes...But the worst of course is the writing. It's not *bad* writing, it's EVIL writing. The writers hated you, me,themselves and all of humanity. They hated love, truth, and beauty. The lyrics and dialog of this film are crafted to try and keep you from seeing any other movie ever again. Or listening to music. Or letting someone speak to you.Don't watch this film. Unless you're undead, and face empty, joyless eternity as an animated corpse, then your life is too short to waste any of it on The Apple.

This truly horrid film is loaded with entertainment value! I have watched it several times and always find new and inventive aspects to offend and amaze me. Obviously the screenplay liberally steals themes from countless bad films and mixes them with themes from scripture. Who else would consider having surgeons break into a dance number in the middle of an operation?I enjoyed the musical efforts from Catherine Mary Stewart. I was all set to praise her singing talent until I read some external reviews that reveal she merely lip synced her songs. Why am I surprised at that? She does have a fabulous figure here. Those legs are to die for!The scene where Bibi is tempted to sign the contract with Mr. Boogaloo to enjoy the results of show business success made me consider that Catherine Mary Stewart took a bite of the apple in real life to appear in this movie. I doubt that she wishes anyone to remember this film she made in the early stages of her career.I was impressed by the linguistic abilities of Vladek Sheybal. He was obviously fluent in at least four languages. He had a sly expression of delight as he portrayed his over-the-top character, Mr. Boogaloo. I remembered him portraying the heavy in 'Shogun' and 'Red Dawn'. I had no idea he was capable of so much more.I am glad I recently came across this gem from the dark days of Disco. It was truly worth the price of the DVD to see such an appalling piece of crap that nevertheless makes you want to enjoy the guilty pleasure again and again.

I happened to catch this movie on first run while I was going to college. I'm a huge fan of Phantom of the Paradise (1974) and thought this movie was going to be similar. Simply put, this is the worst movie I have ever seen. To date it's the only movie I've walked out of (the reason I still remember it 26 years later). I wasn't alone in my disgust either, after my girlfriend and I left the theater and were waiting for friends who had gone to another movie in the same complex, a number of other people also exited the theater. The previous reviewer describes the movie quite well. However I would add that it's a ridiculous and disturbing view of the future that thankfully never came close to reality.Hopefully the master has turned to dust and the world will be spared from a DVD release.
