Am i the only one who thinks........Average?

There is just so much movie here. For some it may be too much. But in the same secretly sarcastic way most telemarketers say the phrase, the title of this one is particularly apt.

what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.

The biggest problem with this movie is it’s a little better than you think it might be, which somehow makes it worse. As in, it takes itself a bit too seriously, which makes most of the movie feel kind of dull.

Director Robert Heath delivers a stunning character study within the horror film format and he does so with unequaled artistry and complete aplomb. A truly talented cast does remarkable work in delivering some power house performances, with Florence Hall sparkling like a super nova in what should be a break-out acting turn of incredible power. The tension is overwhelming as the story progresses but it's the insights regarding the nature of humanity and whether evil predominates that truly mesmerizes. Shocking in parts and even repellent at times, these elements are never gratuitous and always propel the film. The ultimate scene is a climax of such intensity that it must be viewed to be believed. This is an important film, one that in fact needed to be made, and one that deserves to be widely seen in a worldwide re-release.

This film was okay. It's not scary but the story is a tale of sick revenge. a group of young friends get held hostage by a crazy posh country guy who wants to find out the truth about his brothers suicide... It's not until much later on in the film that you realize all is not what it seems. The reason for revenge seems a bit petty (not worth murdering people over) He wants the truth and is prepared to torture the group and force battery acid down there throats in a weird truth or dare game. The lack of people trying to escape is a bit annoying. There's six of them, and many opportunities to get away from the psycho.. But the escape attempts are left until the bitter end and there are quite a few good surprises for the viewer. The story takes an unexpected twist, and the finale brings some much needed change of pace and even a girl survivor who outsmarts the psycho. I would recommend this film

This genre of film seldom fails to disappoint me - while the storyline can be good, I rarely feel any connection with the characters at all.And regardless of how good a story is, or how well it's directed..........if you don't care what happens to the characters, then any real suspense or horror falls flat.Yet again we have a good cast, but unfortunately I really don't care what happens to them. The victims aren't cast in a good light, and therein lies the problem - they come across as arrogant bullies, and in that sense are little different to their tormentor.It gets a 5 from me, as the cast were very believable - and with more likable characters, the film could have been so much better.

The kind of film that Hollywood can't do. A gritty British thriller rather than horror I would say along the lines of Shallow Grave. You will either like this film or hate it. That is the thing with this British type of film.Our characters are typical British teenagers going wild at a party when things get out of hand through the most obvious , jealousy.Move forward and there is another party arranged and our teenagers turn up despite disliking the host because there is going to be free beer (and lets be honest who wont go to a party with free beer)This is where our film takes a twist and a brother out for revenge begins a grisly version of truth or dare. Unlike Hollywood it doesn't take the violence to levels of extreme but you could genuinely believe that there are people out there that would do this sort of thing.Plenty of twists and turns to keep you thinking again something that Hollywood tries to over dramatise but British cinema does so well.If you enjoy gritty British cinema sit back and enjoy.
