To me, this movie is perfection.
Memorable, crazy movie
Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.
This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.

Now listen i have never seen the original Christmas in Connecticut from 1945 i only seen this version cause it's directed by Arnold "Freaking" Schwarzenegger and for the most part i enjoyed it a lot first of all Dyan Cannon and Kris Kristofferson have a great chemistry together and their both energetic and funny and the same goes for Tony Curtis in fact 2 years later Arnold was meant to work with his daughter in James Cameron's underrated action comedy True Lies (1994) also Arnold Schwarzenegger himself has a cameo about one hour and sixteen minutes into the movie, Schwarzenegger is shown outside sitting at a table and speaking into a cell phone in front of the network's satellite uplink truck and there's even a Terminator reference where one of the characters says "I'll Be Back" plus Peter Kent Arnie's long time friend and stunt double has a cameo as a Cop and Wendle Josepher plays A.D. one of the crew members and she also appears in Last Action Hero (1993) as Candy Girl. I wish it was a bit more funny at times and there's a very dumb scene where a gun shot can be heard and for some stupid reason Cannon covers her eyes instead of her ears? That was a bit stupid but if you want to see a fun and romantic comedy with a pretty good and talented cast and a very talented actor behind the camera you might actually have fun with it but if you want to see a better Directed Schwarzenegger work go and check out his Tales from the Crypt Episode. (8/10)
There are risks in doing remakes. When I saw this, I had not seen the Stanwyck film. I just found this about as dull as can be. The whole thing with trying to cook a dinner for a forest ranger and having to hide the fact that she can't cook and going through the gyrations they do, just doesn't work. Is her career really going to hit the skids because the tree guy might find out? Two really tiresome actors, Dyan Cannon and Kris Kristofferson (I like his music) walk through their roles and produce something they hoped would sell at Christmas time. I imagine they managed to put a few people in the seats at the time, but I doubt it has had much of a following. It's just a weak film and can fade into the woodwork of cheap collections of Christmas movies.
I've got this movie for my birthday, but I certainly wouldn't have bought it. It's unbelievable how a remake can be this awful. I'm not saying that Arnold Schwarzenegger is a bad director, but I think somebody else would have made a better movie out of it. The jokes are stupid, the acting is extremely bad, the story seems to go nowhere. It's a shame to waste the talent of these actors. I've only seen it once, and after that one time, I had enough of it. So, I'll give it a 1/5.
The original was a gem; beautifully written, charmingly acted, well directed. Why remake it? There is nothing about thisversion that works. The premise does not work in the 1990s, thestars are flat; the direction insipid.Save two hours of your life. Skip this and rent the original
