Good story, Not enough for a whole film
The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.
Well first of all shout-out to Tom Hanks for making the fiction look real and owning his character. Second if this movie was a project which I think it was then let me just say that it had the best arrangements that I have ever come across in my life. To second that thought I'd say this was the right movie for the director Zemeckis to prove that even a cash cow director could bewilder fans with his movie magic. Now about the movie, a normal person would say that this movie has got sadness, comedy, seriousness and a load of other stuff which makes a perfect blend. But I'm sorry as I have sincerely watched this movie and found out a couple more things than just genre-defying components. To start with this movie revolves around the central character and the central character holds dear to himself a few other characters so the movie also includes extra screen time for them, now the reason I have mentioned this fact is to make you realize that this is not about a person who has lived an extra-ordinary life and has changed the world with his feats, but quite the opposite. It is instead a movie about a simple honest man who has been around only a few people his whole lifetime and although of his non-credited contributions to the society he still remains intact with his loved ones. This creates a lot a way for the movie to be so mesmerizing but in the same time also be so sweet. End of story.
24 years after the movie first aired in cinemas, I finally watched it. Forrest Gump isn't like any other movie I've ever watched. It's both lighthearted and comedic, and moving and deep.It shows how far a mother can go to ensure the best possible future for her son. It shows how friendship and love can still flourish, even after you've seemingly grown miles apart. And above all, it shows how having a disability doesn't have to hold you back. I think it's hard to label this movie. It's a comedy, it's a drama, it's a war movie. It's a movie about life and its hardships. Tom Hanks delivered another splendid performance. The other actors were wonderful as well. The soundtrack really complemented the scenes. The narrative style works out wonders. It's a true masterpiece and I regret not having seen it earlier.
