We can't help but to feel nostalgic while watching this movie. It is definitely able to bring us back to be age of our innocent youth. The movie tells us about the feelings that teenagers face around that age, and we can't help to reminisce the memories. The story is quite simple. The girl is a huge fan of an idol, and at the same time, she has a crush on the school's most popular boy. And while pursuing her love, she finds out that her crush is close with the school's most popular girl. And she then teams up with the school's gangster who likes the popular girl, to tear them apart. And so on.It's like, we've all been there, so people may think that this story is a little bit cliché. Sure, it's quite predictable at some parts. But this movie still successfully captures the ups and downs the adolescents face. The hardships of being honest to yourself, the innocent love we have for our idols, and the discovery of love that they are yet to understand; this movie has it all.I personally really like this movie as it strangely gives me warmth. I recommend this to those who love the simple stories from coming of age movies. This gives the same vibe as an also a Taiwanese movie, You're The Apple of My Eye. Watch both, you'll love both <3

Being a sucker for the Asian cinema, I needed no persuasion to sit down and watch "Our Times" when I was given the chance to do so. And prior to sitting down to watch it, I didn't even know what the movie was about. Nor did I actually know of its existence."Our Times" actually turned out to be quite a good movie, as it had a beautiful storyline, a good and detailed character gallery, a fair amount of comedy, and it had a good ensemble of cast. What worked out well for the storyline was the way that writer Yung-Ting Tseng had manage to weave a story that spans over many years, revolving around the essential core characters of the storyline without losing the red line throughout the story as time passes by. But more so, also the adept approach of director Yu Shan Chen in bringing the script to life on the screen. This is the kind of movie that will appeal to a broad variety of people in the audience, because there is a lot of different layers to the movie and lots of different topics. The actors and actresses cast for the various roles and characters were doing really good jobs at bringing their respective characters to life on the screen. And it was a pure joy to watch their individual and collective performances in the movie."Our Times" was definitely a very enjoyable movie, one that is driven by a powerful and beautiful storyline, as well as a fantastic character gallery. This is the type of movie that you will easily be able to view more than just a single time around. I was thoroughly entertained by "Our Times" and can warmly recommend that you take the time to sit down and watch it, regardless of it you like Chinese cinema or not.

Just before the beginning of this review.I'd like to let you know that this is my personal thinking. For my opinion, this movie dis not "too bad".But just try it out if you have a lots of time and money. The reason why i hate this movie is because of the "too common story". i wonder who wrote this kind of scenario. If i figured it out i would like to give an advice to the scenarist that it's good to have twists inside the movie but you have to consider genre and basic settings before you try to add dramatic part in your writing.A stroke of good luck in, actors are this movie's saving point. I had to admit that every single one of them are attractive even though i hate this movie. So when you watch this movie you will soon realize that Frankie Chen is qualified to be a director because of her casting skill. Literally actors are the only part that lets you stay and watch all the non-empathized plot and heavily dramatic settings. Even though i hate this movie but i'd like to recommend this movie to others. But remember main characters are the only reason of this recommendation. Try it if you have a lot of time and would like to experience dramatic(but have no connection between the story)and the story that to be seen in anywhere or any third-rate movie

Truly Lin is a hard-working optimist trapped in a busy job and she really misses her old school life. It tells the flashback story of Truly Lin's high school life and She has a crush on Ouyang Fei Fan, the school's most popular male student. She teams up with Taiyu, school's notorious gangster boy to help each other win their dream dates. For a directorial debut, this film did very well. A well scripted and the image of Taiwan in the 1990s was fascinating. Pop songs, hairstyles, letters and teenage obsession with star Lau all made a strong impression of the story. It was a pleasure to watch it and it has all ingredients for a teenage love story. Overall, I really enjoyed it and it's worth a shot.
