Redundant and unnecessary.
When a movie has you begging for it to end not even half way through it's pure crap. We've all seen this movie and this characters millions of times, nothing new in it. Don't waste your time.
The film makes a home in your brain and the only cure is to see it again.
Through painfully honest and emotional moments, the movie becomes irresistibly relatable
I could sum up this movie in just a few words: awkward, plot-less, and cliché.Do yourself a favor and don't waste an hour and a half of your life watching this movie. That is, unless you enjoy straight men awkwardly pretending to be gay to win the hearts girls who unrealistically flirt with them despite the fact that the men have declared their complete gayness. This movie was a complete mess.I seriously had no idea where the plot (if it can so be called) was taking me throughout the entire movie. By the end, I was just horribly annoyed. The only remotely entertaining part of this movie was the main guy's ex-girlfriend, who is the only character who actually has a believable personality. She actually made me lol a few times toward the end.Other than that, I seriously hate this movie with a passion. If you want to see a good gay move, rent Trick, Latter Days, or Boy Culture.
As I have spent time catching up on gay films lately --- I found "Eating Out" to be a fresh nice piece of fun gay film- gentle and easy. Fun to watch. I found it thoughtful and insightful to the realities that gay men face and approachable enough my straight friends enjoyed it - . Eating Out represents a sweet nice refreshing drink of water filmed in the hot Tucson sun. The writers use of contemporary gay slang, and situations makes you wonder what will be around the next corner. The characters represent folks you know in your every day life and the situations a cross between reality and Queer As Folk - are believable and yet funny-the cast is well mated and plays well off each other and is damned cute too!- when I compare it to other 2004/2005 releases I have found it more enjoyable than certain mainstream gay releases and certainly way less depressing.
Gone With The Wind, it wasn't. But it WAS a good movie! I have friends like these guys. It was supposed to be a farce and the writer did a good job... there are some witty lines here and there.Caleb was a hunk. I'd do him on the front lawn. Scott Lunsden underplayed his role and was really believable. The film had a positive attitude overall.Caleb's family was a hoot. His parents are so determined to be progressive and supportive that when he's outed to them, they totally support his "new lifestyle." The relationship with his little sister was very much like those in my own family - loving, but she never cuts him a break.Tiffani was good. You could tell the actress who played her really had fun with the role. In fact, it looked like everyone involved was having a good time. That always comes through in a movie and makes it worth watching.I rented this one, but I plan to buy it so I can see it again.
This is the kind of insipid superficial gay movie that gives the gay community a bad name. Real low class/low rate stuff. Awful writing and awful directing. If you like all the superficial and unrefined elements of a culture, then this is for you. If you are looking for something more sophisticated and that even attempts to approximate 'art', then look elsewhere. Real Insipid, superficial gay junk movie. Not worth the time or money. I can never understand how this kind of stuff can get made or where these writers or directors heads are when they think this stuff up. It is really the type of movie that has become the bane of existence of the gay community.
