The story-telling is good with flashbacks. The film is both funny and heartbreaking. You smile in a scene and get a soulcrushing revelation in the next.

The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one

The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.

This is really a great concept, not as cheesy as Sliders, but along the same lines. I liked the actors, and script, although the dialogue seemed a little weak at times. I'll never understand how stuff like this get's axed, but other absolute crap is made into a series. I hope by adding a 10 to this enough people will pay attention that maybe we'll get the rest of the story. It really leaves you with a cliff hanger that may never get answered.

A building that acts as a portal to alternative Earths? So far so good. That's the kind of movie for me. Unfortunately, the first Earth that the trio (plus Wu) get to visit is a sort of cliché B-movie version of "Mad Max 2" – and that's definitely one of my more peevy cinematic pet-peeves. Sure, the location looks kinda nifty, but the characters and the plot revolving around that Earth are stereotypical and you know straight off the bat it's going to be boring. Thug gang kidnaps the innocents and they have to free themselves to reach the portal on time: who the hell didn't see that coming? A plot-line from 10,000 movies and TV shows.Things get better when they visit a more advanced Earth than our own. For some reason, the foursome split up into two groups, which is asinine. Not quite as dumb as horny dumb teens splitting up in a haunted mansion, but still quite daft. It's not as if they were tourists strolling through Manhattan or Paris, sightseeing. The finale became quite interesting, what with that elevator leading to who-knows-where-and-whom, and the appearance of the siblings' father. Or is he? The angry bald guy who makes gadgets hacks the building, which is a nice touch (I actually thought he was building yet another nuclear device to blow up THAT Earth as well! – which would have been extremely stupid), but his warning about Carver remains unresolved: why did he try to warn the others about him? Where did Baldy go? Whom did he meet up there? What was he told by the building's makers? Not only is all of that unresolved, but we don't even get to find out what the mysterious sphere was for. I mean, Ronan had it in his bag since the movie started, and yet it never amounts to much more than a plot-device for Wu to tell us that there is a place called Coreworld. That's the movie's basic problem: too many loose ends completely ignored and unexplained. A certain measure of mystery is perfectly acceptable – even advisable – for such movies, but too many loose ends lead to confusion and a sense that the script is underdeveloped. At the very least there should be a sequel to wrap things up, but low-budget indie movies aren't exactly known for sequeling themselves that much.Aside for the fun premise, my biggest congrats goes to whoever cast Constance Wu, because that woman makes all the female A-listers look really bad (which isn't saying much), such a refreshment in the Age of Ugly Nepotists. I said this a million times, but I'll say it again: why can't a beautiful woman like her have a career the way Aniston and Kunis have? Because one is a nepotist and the other, well, we won't go into that. Or how about that daft little floozy Johansson? She gets hyped more than Coca Cola. Hollywood insiders will know exactly what I'm talking about. The outsiders will want to pelt me with food.

*** This review may contain spoilers *** *** This review may contain spoilers *** *** This review may contain spoilers ***would have given this film a higher rating if it were in fact finished.originally made as a pilot for a television series the movie ends without explaining anything, it is a complete cliffhanger with no future.really enjoyed the film up until this point and then there was nothing. would love it if Fox, Amazon or Netflix would take this on as a series, i reckon it would catch on very quickly. from reading what other people have said, i don't think I'm the only person to that feels this way.

A brother and sister are given a cryptic message by their father 'get to the building,' joined by their neighbour Harry. Not knowing their dad's whereabouts, Harry informs them that he'd been seen with some men. Stepping into a building a news clipping had led them to, the strangest thing happens the three step outside and all is not as it was, the streets now look post apocalyptic, decayed and damaged, only their building remained untouched, they've move to a parallel version of Earth. They begin to question why their dad sent them there, theorising about events, they are joined by Polly, a girl that knows more then she let's out, she gives an indication of events, the building jumps every 36 hours, they need to stay alive and be there to return home. They also try an track their dad down.Very interesting premise, the concept was excellent, to some extent it delivers, the acting was pretty good, although the Harold character was rather nauseating. Brother and Sister Ronan and Beatrix are interesting, and the delve into their family problems is interesting. Some interesting bits, some of the parallel Earth differences are good, imaginative. The Ryugyong Hotel looks crazy enough to feature. It didn't really feel like a movie, it felt like a TV series pilot, but it was interesting enough, quite enjoyable, don't be surprised if a TV series follows soon. Somehow it felt a little short.6/10 Imaginative, just not engaging or action packed enough.
