Better Late Then Never
Like the great film, it's made with a great deal of visible affection both in front of and behind the camera.
The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful
This movie tries so hard to be funny, yet it falls flat every time. Just another example of recycled ideas repackaged with women in an attempt to appeal to a certain audience.
Nice, nerdy Xenia, Ohio senior high school reporter Chris Hughes (18), paperboy and cool quarterback Hudson Reed's cool pack's punching-ball, can't even get girls to attend a free booze-party. When Chris's biological parents, publisher Peter Mack and nude model Honey, die, he inherits a horny teenager's wet dream: Heaven magazine porn empire, a huge Hollywood 'play heaven' villa and $87,000,000 cash, which instantly makes him Mr. Popularity. However his uncle Duncan 'Duncay' Mack plots with lawyer Michael Hunt, the trust administrator, to cover up their embezzlement and steal the firm while the naive heir parties and barely attends school.Doesn't that sound unique?Completely mindless movie that a 12 year old can write. Production values are decent. Music is loud. And believe it or not, the credits theme song is actually Who's your Daddy. If you are over 14, you will not be able to watch this movie. It's horrible. It's a rip off of American Pie and the lead guy even resembles the guy from AP!!! Avoid!!!
what promised to be a interesting premise, highschool boy who is a wimp becomes a playboy after he has inherited the fortune and company of a multinational corporation. Suddenly he's introduced into a world, he thought he never saw and experienced things he thought he would never experience. The introduction of the lifestyle of his late parents and the clash of his suburban lifestyle with that of a big city is done perfectly. He's in why over his head here and he knows it. While he first fantasies about Britanny, he know thinks he can sleep with Ali Landry's character. If they did, than that would be awesome. But she knows he's a minor and she doesn't do it. However, Patsy Kensit's character doesn't seem to have any scrupules. She even makes out with Chris' best friend to get to Chris, even though she is repulsed by that kid. Who can blame her. He's annoying and repulsing. Chris realizes he has a lot of power and money, but quickly loses it because of the actions of his uncle who wants his cousin out and he wants the company and the fortune. Soon he's back to be a nobody and with no friends to show for it. After that, it goes to a standard formula of guy wins back friends and fortune or girl. Even though he doesn't hook up with brittany, he does with Christina Lakin's character who has a crush on him, but he doesn't notice her because of Brittany. Which is typical for these kind of highschool comedies. Boy is in love with popular girl he can never have, but doesn't notice a girl who has a crush on him. Boy gets popular girl but somehow realizes she's not the one and goes for the dorky girl that has a crush on him. Sounds familiar? It should, we have seen it way to many times by now, we know what to expect from these movies. A movie with Marnette Patterson, Ali Landy and Christina Lakin, what more do you need? Well a good plot perhaps. Even though it has a plot, it was somewhat on the mediocre side.
Essentially, this film molds elements of John Hughes and American Pie style teen sex comedies onto a model story of Hamlet: a young heir to his father's empire is overtaken by the evil uncle. Worked for Shakespeare, worked for the Lion King, and now it works for Wayne Newton. The story is simple and straightforward. Though it can be quite cheesy at points, the humor makes it work on the whole. The dialog is snappy and effective, as it is the main source of the humor. Heck, there's even a noticeable lack of gross-out gags, very rare for comedies like these.Furthermore, every actor makes the very best of their role. The religious family, the porn stars, and even the high schoolers are all very easily believable. On the whole, very likable. A notch above the rest of its genre. 8 out of 10 stars.
This movie is an average Teen Movie. With no name or experience actor this movie doesn't quite make it into the cool movie zone. Though the movie is ain't that bad, at least not 4.3/10.Story: An adopted school nerds became a Hugh Hefner overnight after he inherit the porn empire from his true parent. The boys casting was kinda disappointment, they ruin the mood of the movie (maybe because they look too young.) Anyway the movie can make you smile especially with Ali, she look gorgeous here.Overall: The movie did quite make anything right that is the main problem , (everything was copy and paste from here and there). You Mighty Like It So Give It A Shot. The other problem is the is no characteristic and feeling between the character and the viewer.Rating: 5/10 (Grade: 5/10)
