Please don't spend money on this.
It is a performances centric movie
If you don't like this, we can't be friends.
If the ambition is to provide two hours of instantly forgettable, popcorn-munching escapism, it succeeds.
If you were not born before say 2000 than you must see this movie it will give you a glimpse of what it was like growing up between 1980 to 2000 what i grew up doing or trying to do but if you haven't seen it you must one of my fave i have seen it at least a thousands times and i still watch on DVD not easy to find trust me i gad to call Canada to get it. Spoiler Cru wins.
Well before X Games was even thought of or heard of "Rad" was in theaters. I was young when the movie came out and my memory of the entire movie is a bit hazy, but what I do remember was good. As young as I was when I watched it I would not have known good acting from bad, but I remember the cool stunts he was trying and his determination to do the back flip on the bike (which is a standard stunt now). Also, how could anyone forget the scene from the school dance where he did variable stunts to the song "Give me an Angel".Rad is most likely a cult classic if it is anything at all, very few have watched it and probably even fewer will remember it. It is another iconic symbol of the great 80's.
One of the paradigms of 1980s movies, I saw it when I was around 7 or 8 years old. This movie influenced me to become the man I am today, a professional bmx biker, sponsored by Mongoose.Shortly after seeing this film, I traded my banana cruiser in for a sweet new bmx . From that point on, I was terrorizing my neighbors with my rude paper route delivery antics. I had my route so well planned and executed that I too could ride a garbage trucks front-end loader over a fence. It took a few years, but at the 1997 X Games, I was approached by the then-head of the Mongoose racing team about potential sponsorship. When asked "Who do you race for?" I used the words of Cru, I took of my sunglasses, looked him in the eyes and said "I race for me". He knew I meant business, and signed me for a 5 year contract right there, handing me 5 million dollars in cash, on the spot.
This is one of the more memorable movies you'll ever see. When I was younger, I used to watch this movie several times a day. 'Rad' is a action-packed drama about a young boy I highly recommend watching this great movie. It has a great cast. The star is the lovable bmx bicycle-riding Christopher "Crue" Jones, and co-starring his love interest Christian (Lorie Loughlin!). The arch nemesis is rich, popular bmx rider Bart Taylor played by Olympic gymnast Bart Connors.Lines such as these listed are memorable: "Taylor stopping. He wants Crue Jones one on one!" and "That's Hollywood Mike Moranda, his second dramatic fall of the day." Mike Moranda, one of the random racers at Helltrack (Helltrack!) was supposed to turn around a steep bank, but decided to go straight and then jumped straight off the track. So funny. It's just so funny. Everyone should see this movie.
