Very disappointing...
This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.
This film is so real. It treats its characters with so much care and sensitivity.
An old-fashioned movie made with new-fashioned finesse.
Death Wish 4: the crackdown (1987) is my personal favourite of the action packed fun Death Wish franchise!!! I won't go on about the plot or story as it's basic action Thriller 80s fun but i will talk about this Easily being the best of the series!!! BRONSON is at his best here as Vigilante Paul Kersey (my favourite film character ever) he's like the original Punisher in his Hunt & crackdown of gangsters & his portrayal is absolutely best here in part 4, Paul Kersey has become a kind of MYTHICAL avenger almost supernatural & scary to criminals as seen in the excellent opening Nightmare scene!!! A GREAT way to reintroduce the Vigilante in an almost Horror fashion that works perfectly & gives us the MOST iconic version of Paul Kersey & of BRONSON himself, like i said the opening gives us AWESOME scenes of Kersey stood in half in shadow in a long leather coat & introduces himself as DEATH!!! just perfect & cemented his status as a scary Vigilante. Part 4 is also the best directed out of the entire franchise & it shows all the way through & again is better for it & someone actually knowing what to do with the Awesome Paul Kersey character & actually making him intimidating & at the same time very cool & iconic. Yep the best filmof the series & the best version of mr. Vigilante & the best directed & has the best opening scene of the lot & a really nice 80s jazzy music score that fits perfectly with this less gritty & grimy but more cleaner Action packed Thriller that's pure entertainment from that CLASSIC opening to the Awesome kick ass ending!!! Perfect Bronson perfect Kersey, my favourite BRONSON film
After three swings and a miss, then surely I was more than ready to give up on the "Death Wish" franchise. But I had all five movies readily available, so I decided to stick with them and watch them.It turns out that "Death Wish 4: The Crackdown" had a much better story than the previous 3. The reason for this was because the storyline dealt with the drug cartels, so it added a whole different layer and aspect to the movie. It was rather fun to see a young Danny Trejo in this movie. The doll of Trejo, during the explosion scene, was just hilariously bad.The scene where Paul Kersey (played by Charles Bronson) crashed the police car, the ramp behind the other car was so painfully visible that it was ridiculous. And I actually went back to watch that scene three times just for the sheer laughs of how bad it was.Of course Paul Kersey lost more people that he loved and cared about in this movie. Seems like he is being followed by some curse that claims everyone he becomes close to."Death Wish 4: The Crackdown" was actually the best of the four movies in the franchise thus far.
Paul Kersey (Bronson) is back to wipe out an entire drug cartel, to be honest, two. He's got a new girlfriend with a daughter but once the daughter overdosed it's time to hunt. Better than part 3 but this time it do moves slowly and clocking in over 90 minutes it's a bit to long. Storywise it's only the name Kersey that makes references toward the 1974 original, this is more a typical Cannon (the distributors) action movie then a revenge flick. On part of the effects, this maybe is the best of the franchise. And for the freaks, Danny Trejo is to spot in the Italian restaurant.Gore 0/5 Nudity 0/5 Effects 2,5/5 Story 3/5 Comedy 0/5
This Bronson film is not a crime-thriller like the first two films. This 4th film is more like Death Wish III - it's all action and not much of a story. Like the 3rd film in the series, this 4th film has Paul Kersey (Bronson) kicking the bad-guy's. The movie is good if you want a movie that is mainly all action - gun shooting and things being blown up - then Death Wish 4 is a good choice to watch. Film bonus: You will get to watch an 80's arcade room shot up in this film.I personally am more into the first two films which are good crime-thrillers and great vigilante stories. Starting from Death Wish III forward - the film saga turns into simply shoot-them-up action without the great stories like the first two flicks in the series.5/10
